Recycle for a Greener Christmas

Good Morning! I'm here to share my DT project for the R is for Recycling plus Ribbons or Rhinestones Challenge on the ABC Christmas Challenge.

I have opted to recycle a box that I had stashed away in case I needed a box for gift wrapping. I have a feeling that it will make a much better presentation now.

I started by measuring all of the sides of the box and cutting all of my papers a quarter of an inch smaller. This great paper is from Fancy Pants and as it double sided I have opted to use both sides of the paper.
This great image is from Sparkle Creations, I have coloured it with Copics and paper pieced the Umbrella with a tiny star print from Basic Grey to match her robe. I have embellished using some tiny snowflake ornaments that I picked up last Christmas and I have added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

On the back of the box, I have added a sentiment and embellished with more flowers and a heart punch from Martha Stewart.

As no gift would be complete without a way to identify the recipient I have added a diecut tag and tied it all up with a big bow.

I hope that you will participate in the challenge. We are sponsored this week by Digital Delights who have offered up a great prize for one lucky recipients. For further inspiration, have a look at the rest of the fabulous DT projects and a list of hints and tips that can all be found here.

Holiday Treats

Good Morning. Fortunately here we had a lovely weekend weather wise but I know that there are many people that were not so lucky so I hope that everyone is safe and dry this Monday morning..

Today marks the start of a new StampFairy Challenge and this week our theme is
Buttons and Fibers

I have had a play with another new image this week. I did tell you that you would be seeing more of George in the near future. This is Lenny CandyCane and he is from a new collection that was released last week.
I have coloured George with Copics and accented with some puffy Liquid Applique snow. I've used some wonderful sparkly papers from MME and Best Creations for my card and I have finished it off with some red accents that have been stitched with some green floss to match the card. This was a nice and simple one this week but I love the look of it.

I hope that you will join us for our challenge. I look forward to seeing your beautiful creations.
Before you go I want to share with you another new StampFairy release.
This is Barry Pumpkins isn't he just the sweetest thing in the patch?

You can find him in the store today, just click the link below.

I wish you all a great week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Have you ever had one of those weeks that fly by but feels like the longest week ever?  That is this week and I am so glad that it is Friday and the weekend is here.

Friday also marks the start of another Stamp Something Challenge, I can't believe that the summer is coming to an end and it is time for this but this week we would like you to
Stamp Something for Back to School

Once again we are sponsored this week by the fabulous Simon Says Stamp who are offering one lucky participant a $20.00 gift certificate. I am sure that you can find something there to keep yourselves amused while the kiddos are in school.

Photobucket

For my card this week I have used a fabby image from Mo's Digital Pencil called To School and I have coloured him up to look like my nephew who will be heading off to Junior Kindergarten next month. All of the papers are from an older Making Memories collection that I cannot remember the name of but I thought that all of the rulers and text included in the patterns fit the back to school theme perfectly. In keeping with the masculine theme of this card I opted to skip the flowers and have added the dimensional star stickers for embellishment and then finished it all off with a sentiment from LOTV which was also popped up for some extra dimension.

I hope that I have inspired you just a little bit to give the challenge a go. Before you head off to start crafting though, be sure to stop by the Stamp Something Challenge Blog and see the beautiful creations from the rest of the team.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend and happy crafting.

Fancy Folds with StampFairy

Good morning, I hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We spent part of it at the lake enjoying the sunshine when there was some and hiding from the clouds when the sun had disappeared.

I did manage to get in a little crafting, good thing to as today is the start of another StampFairy challenge.
This week we are focusing on Fancy Folds so I hope that you will have some wonderful techniques to share with us.

For my card this week, I have turned to my favorite little snow friend George. Gerda created a fantastic new range of stamps with this old friend the other week and you can find them all here
I have coloured him using my signature George colours and added some half pearl tree decorations and some puffy liquid applique snow to embellish the image.

I have kept the card rather simple by following a wonderful sketch from Going Grey with Scrap Creations.

Because of the grid, this sketch was perfect for my Z-fold card. All of the papers are from a MME Christmas pad and I have only added a few little acrylic snowflake stickers as I really need to start making some cards that will go through the mail.

I hope that you will join us this week. I look forward to seeing your lovely works of art. Please be sure to stop by the StampFairy Challenge Blog and see the gorgeous creations that the rest of the DT have created to inspire you.

In addition to the range of Georege stamps that I have used for my card I would like to show you today's new release.

Be sure to keep an eye out. I am sure that George will be featured front and centre on my blog again soon.

Thank You Somethings

Good morning!
Just one more day to get through and then it is the weekend. Can you tell that I am a happy girl?

Today marks the start of another challenge on the Stamp Something blog and this week we want you to Stamp Something to say Thank You

We are sponsored this week by Funky Kits

who are offering up a
Funky Kits £10 voucher
for one lucky participant.

My card this week features the Hippie Chick, one of the Simply Sassy stamps from Sugar Nellie that can be found at Funky Kits.I have coloured her in shades of blue and yellow to match these gorgeous papers from MME as I had been longing to use them for a while now. The layout for my card is based on the great sketch from the Sugarbowl Challenge.

MTSB65 - BLUE

To embellish my card I have added a sentiment from Hero Arts to match our thank you challenge. Then I built some little floral arrangements to match my card. The cherry blossoms and the little blue flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the yellow roses are hand made using a die from MFT. As I still felt that there was something missing, I punched a few butterflies which I have then sparkled using stickles and some rhinestones for the bodies.

I hope that you will join us for our thank you challenge this week. Before you head off to start crafting please stop by the Stamp Something blog and see the rest of the gorgeous creations from the DT.
Have a great weekend!

Snowy Hugs

Wow, I have just finished having a peek through all of the Christmas Presents that you created over the last two weeks and I must say that I would like to be on many of your Christmas lists this year. Today is the start of a new ABC Christmas Challenge and this week we will be working with the theme of

Q is for Quote (plus an image)

We have two wonderful sponsors this week.

Robyn's Fetish Badge

Fabulous prize of 5 Robyn's Fetish digital products
This may be 5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 paper set.

AND

Prize from Brenda is a 3 month subscription to the 'How to WOW paper crafting techniques club'

As I have been short on crafting time lately I have chosen to create a really simple style card, this one will be perfect for the mail. I had coloured this Magnolia image a while back and it was perfect for this quote stamp that I had in my stash but had not yet used. I have paired it with some snow paper and a few metal snowflakes for embellishment to finish it all off..

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. Before you run off to start your cards be sure to stop by the ABC Christmas Challenge blog and have a peek at the creations from the rest of the girls.

Hit the Books

Good day, I hope that you  had a wonderful weekend.
This week over on the StampFairy challenge we are heading back to school.

It was never uncommon for me to have my nose in a book as a child, in fact I still love to get lost in a book but these days most of my reading is done electronically. I do have two nieces that have picked up this love of reading though and I am sure that a bookmark or two will come in handy.

I have chosen to work with this great image from the Lenny back to School collection. I have used a simple packaging tag as the base to add some stability and used some paper scraps to accent the image and make it pop. To finish it off I threaded some floss through the whole at the top and braided it to make the tassel.

I hope that you will join us this week. I look forward to seeing your back to school projects.

Keep on the Sunny Side

Sunny days and summer weekends, what better combination is there?
As we head off into another summer weekend over on the Stamp Something blog we are kicking off another challenge today and this time we are celebrating the Dog Days of Summer and we would like to see your creations using dogs or summer images, papers, etc.

We are sponsored this week this week by Bunny Zoe Crafts which carries a wonderful selection of crafting supplies including the stamp that I have used on my card today.
One lucky participant will win a a Bunny Zoe Crafts voucher.

My card today features Lil Lad Stephan from Tickled Pink Stamps. I have coloured this surf lovin' dude to match these bright, summery papers from Basic Grey and I found the sentiment in a book of rub ons that I had in my stash. A few gems for some sparkle was all this card needed to finish it off.

I thought that with this sentiment it would be a good age related birthday card so the inside reads
"You're still young at heart!"

I hope that you will join us for our challenge this week. Be sure to visit the Stamp Something blog for a peek at the other wonderful creations from the rest of the design team.

Have a great weekend and remember to keep on the sunny side of life!

P is for Presents and Packaging

Good morning, I am so glad that you stopped by.
As I was not back from my little vacation in time to participate in the introduction of the P is for Presents and Packaging challenge over on the ABC Christmas challenge I have created some midway inspiration to share with you this week.

Using the inspiration photo above the super cute new images of Barry from StampFairy I have created some bright and cheery Christmas packaging for some edible goodies that I will make to give away this year for the holiday season.

I did mention the other day that Barry was bound to become a new favorite of mine. He is just so darn cute. This time I have coloured him up in what just might become his signature colours as I love the way that the red and green really pop. The images have all been embellished with Glossy Accents, Stickles and Liquid Applique before being die cut and framed using Spellbinders dies.

The little gift boxes are actually Chinese take out containers that I picked up at a local storage shop but I have seen similar containers in Michael's. I have kept things really simple to allow the images to really shine as they stand so well on their own and I have only added some ribbon scraps to the handles for embellishment. When I know who the recipients of these little packages will be I will hang a gift tag from the handle as well.

For the wine bottle, I have created the little tag from my own design using my Spellbinders to cut the hole to fit over the neck of the bottle. I have added my image and then finished it off by adding a Hero Arts sentiment to a white stripe below the image. I have finished off the packaging of the bottle by adding a band of matching patterned paper to cover the label and added a ribbon band to embellish.

You still have another week to enter and we have two wonderful sponsors

StampFairy
and

Simon Says Stamp
Photobucket

who have offered up some great prizes for two of our lucky participants. If you have not already done so please be sure to visit the ABC Christmas challenge blog and see all of the other wonderful creations that the rest of the DT made to inspire you.
Happy Crafting!

StampFairy Challenge - A Sketch

Good morning, I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend. I am now getting back on track in terms of my crafting and I have caught up on the projects that I needed to finish. One of those projects is my DT card for the StampFariy challenge that starts today.  This week Gerda has designed another fabulous sketch for us to use.

For my card today I am using a new favorite of mine from the Stamp Fairy family.  If you have not already met him, I would like to introduce you to Barry.

This card is just loaded with sparkle. I have coloured up Barry to co-ordinate with this great papers from MME which already have loads of sparkle to them but I have accented the image with some stickles for the snowballs. . As I wanted to make use of my Drippy Goo punch to create some wintry icicles I have chosen to rotate the sketch by 90 degrees. I tucked an extra element in the form of the circle behind my image for yet some more sparkle and shine and if that weren't enough bling I have finished off the card with a snowflake that was diecut from various shimmery papers and topped it off with a sparkly centre.

I hope that you will stop by the StampFairy challenge blog for a look at all of the other gorgeous creations from the rest of the team. Then I look forward to seeing your lovely creations. Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp Something Digi

Just a quick post today as I am still getting back into the swing of things after my little holiday. I am looking forward to this weekend even though it has been a short week at the office for me, I am ready for another break and some crafting time.

As this is the first Friday of August it is time for our Stamp Something Digi challenge. We are sponsored this week by a number of wonderful sponsors who have kindly provided the DT with images to work with this week.

My card features Pirate Penny from Sassy Studios. I have coloured her with Copics and added all sorts of rhinestone gold treasure.I have stamped up the corners using Distress Inks and a Tim Holtz stamp to add some intrest, I think that it gives it a sort of mossy effect.

The base of the card was made using papers from Cosmo Cricket. As the image is so large and really stands on its own I have added only a couple of buttons which reminded me of pirate treasure as embellishment.

I want to thank you for stopping by and I do hope that you will join us for the challenge. Before you start crafting be sure to stop by the Stamp Something blog and see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the design team.
