Umbrella Girl

Wow this month has flown by fast! I can't believe that this is already my last GDT post at Papertake Weekly. Before I tell you all about this weeks challenge I just want to say thanks for having me ladies,
I have had so much fun with these challenges.

For this weeks challenge we have a great sketch from Dawny P.

This adorable image called Rainy Day is from Saturated Canary and she is such a doll to colour.  I have matched the colouring to these great papers from the MME Quite Contrary line that I picked up about a month back, so glad that I did as that raindrop paper was just perfect for this image.

Once she was all coloured up this cutie just called for flowers and I have gone all out raiding my stash of Wild Orchid pretties to embellish this card.  I have tucked in a little Umbrella charm as a final finishing touch.

I hope to see you all out to play this week, I do look forward to seeing your beautiful creations.

Finish the Inside

Our new them this week over on the StampFairy Challenge is
Finish the Inside
but there is a twist as you must also follow use the new sketch that Gerda Has designed.

This great sketch allowed me to use up a number of papers that were left over from cards that I have made earlier this year. I have coloured Barry Winter to match the colours in the papers.

To finish the inside of my card I have used distress inks and a delicate Hero Arts swirl stamp to create the background on top of which i have stamped my sentiment. I then used some of the same paper and embellishments that were used on the outside to finish it off.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. I look forward to seeing your creations.

I will be back later to link it up.

ABC Christmas - X is for Xerox

If you have been playing along with us you have probably amassed a nice little collection of cards by now. If not, do not worry because this week is a great chance for you to catch up. Our challenge this week is

X of Xerox

Xerox one of our team's cards... In other words CASE
CASE a card by an ABC Christmas challenge Design team member from one of our Challenges from this Challenge or a challenge in 2011.

Take inspiration from their layout...or use the same technique...or colours...or papers...or the same image if you want too!...

We have some great sponsors this week too.

Digital Delights has offered one lucky participant 3 digital stamps of their choice.

*******************
Bugaboo stamps has offered another lucky winner 7 digital stamps of their choice.

I have chosen to case this great card by Lols from the B is for Black and White challenge.
and here is my take on it.

This great image is Snowman Winterbird which was kindly provided by Bugaboo for this challenge. All of my papers are from MME and I have tried to keep them as similar as possible. In addition I have kept all of the original elements of the layout of her card.

I hope that you will join us for this challenge, it really is a lot of fun. Be sure to stop by the ABC Challenge blog and see the rest of the team's Xeroxed creations.

A Christmas Story

Once Upon a Time in a land far away... who didn't love a great Christmas story as a child.

This week our Papertake Weekly challenge is Christmas Crackers, that is (use a Christmas image that you are crackers about).

When I stumbled across this wonderful printed book box in Winners I immediately thought Lil Victorian Christmas Lolita Lylah , a wonderful image from Tickled Pink Stamps. Before I knew it this box was coming home with me and this challenge has been the perfect opportunity to bring the vision to life.

After colouring the image with Copics and cutting her out, I have mounted the image on the box and set to work embellishing.

To add the perfect Victorian touches I have used lots of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts layered over a piece of greenery from a Christmas pick and accented with lots of my favorite red pearls.

I hope you will join us for the challenge, I love stopping by your blogs for a visit and I am looking forward to seeing all of your favorite Christmas images.

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to stop by the Papertake Weekly blog for more inspiration.

Glitter it Up

Good Morning, just a quickie post today to remind you that you all still have one week to enter the StampFairy challenge where the theme is glitter.

For my card this week I have used George CandyCanes. He has been given a huge dose of shimmer as a result of all of the stickles and liquid pearls that I applied.
George is a perfect match to this wonderful snowman paper from MME so he was coloured to match. I have based the layout on an old sketch that I had lying around and the embellishments were kept simple as everything else is already so busy.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. Before you do, be sure to pop by the store, Gerda has added some wonderful images lately. Here is Friday's release just for a sample of what you will find.

Once Upon A Christmas....

Good morning! Today marks the start of another challenge on the Papertake Weekly challenge and this was a fun one for me. The theme this week is to make a card that doubles as more than a card and I decided that this was the perfect opportunity to have a go at making a book card.
You can find the tutorial that I used here.

The image is Silent Night Tilda which is a favorite of mine but an image that I have not yet used this year and she has been coloured up to match this beautiful background paper from the Basic Grey Nordic collection.

The blue mat was again created using the emboss resist technique and the same swirl stamp that was used on my card yesterday. To embellish, I have layered on a lace doily, a piece of silver twig from a Christmas pick and some sparkly snowflakes for a winter wonderland effect.

Inside is the perfect spot to tuck a little gift and I think that I have the perfect gift in mind. It has been finished off with two sentiments and another snowflake leaving plenty of room to add a handwritten message for the recipient.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. Be sure to stop by the Papertake Weekly blog and see all of the wonderful DT creations.

Winter Warm Up

Good morning, I hope that you have all had another wonderful weekend. It is the start of another new StampFairy Challenge and this week we want to see your glittery creations.
I was having some inky fun yesterday morning and I had a play with this great background stamp from Impression Obsession which I had picked up a few weeks back at Stampfest because I thought that it was perfect for a wintery card.

I have paired it up with Cocoa George for my card this week. George is an oldie but a goodie and he is super quick to colour. I accented the snow with some liquid applique and sprinkled on some glitter while it was still wet. It is hard to see in the photo but it is very shimmery.

I have kept the card simple as I wanted some of the back ground to show and I have added a large glittery snowflake ornament as the only accent which I find adds to the wintery feel that was already set by the background.

I hope that you will join us with your glittery creations. Remember that you must use a StampFairy image to be eligible for a prize.

Be sure to stop by the store for a visit, here is a peek of the latest release from Friday.

Snow Much Fun!

Good morning, I hope that you are ready to play? Over on the ABC Christmas Blog we have a new challenge for you and it is going to be lots of fun.  Our challenge theme this time is

W for Winter Sports.

We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge;
Simon Says Stamp are offering $15 voucher to one lucky participant
Photobucket
Stamp Fairy are offering 3 digital images of the winner's choice to another lucky participant.

and

I have chosen to use a favorite StampFairy character George for my card this week and this cutie is all set for some winter fun on the slopes.

As this wonderful image of George reminded me of a scene in a snow globe I decided that it was the perfect excuse to make a shaker card. I have used white tinsel glitter to fill the shaker as it has a shimmer that reminds me of fresh fallen snow. The layout of the card has been kept simple to allow the shaker to stand out and I have added only a few simple snowflakes as embellishment to pick up on the theme.

I hope that you will join with some winter fun of your own. Be sure to stop by the ABC Christmas Challenge blog to see the rest of the gorgeous DT creations.

Holiday Shopper

Good morning and welcome, I have my second Papertake Weekly card to share with you today.
This week our theme is
The First Chrismas (Card of the Papertake Weekly year)

I know it is not the first Chrismas card that you have seen from me and it won't be the last but it is the first time that I am using this image this year. This is the sweet Jenny Bear from LOTV and she is out doing all of her holiday shopping (getting it out of the way nice and early, smart girl).I have chosen to colour her up in nice rich colours to pair her up with my 12 Days of Christmas Papers from MME and she has been accented with a generous dose of stickles and glitter for sparkle.

To take things one step further I have also made this into an easel card, adding a pocket to tuck a gift card behind the sentiment. I already have the perfect Christmas Gifts that I will be able to tuck inside. Now I just need to make one more like this.

I want to thank you for stopping by. Be sure to pop over to the Papertake Weekly blog and see the gorgeous creations  from the rest of the team. I hope that you will join us and I look forward to seeing your gorgeous Christmas creations.

Wish Upon A Star

Good morning, we have reached the mid way point of our StampFairy sketch challenge and I am back to share another inspiration card with you.

For this week's card I have used one of the images from Friday's release, Barry Angel. This darling set of images has so many possible uses but this time around I have opted to go with a sweet and girls baby card. Once again I have pretty much stayed true to the sketch using a punched border with a fancy ribbon for the band and a die cut star instead of the circle mat. The end result is a card that is sweet and girly, perfect for a new little angel.

Remember that you still have one week to join us for the challenge and you must use a  StampFairy image. If you have not been by the store for a while, what are you waiting for? Here is Friday's full release as a little sneak peek of what is waiting for you there.

Fairy Dust and Floral Wishes

Good morning, I have a little secret to let you in on today.  I have been selected to participate on the Papertake Weekly challenge as a Guest Designer for the month of December.

Today I would like to share my first Guest DT card. The theme this week is Anything Goes and we are sponsored by the wonderful people at Lili Of the Valley.  I just love their stamps and lucky for me I just happened to have an image already coloured sitting and waiting to be put on a card so this was the perfect opportunity.

Everything about this card just came together. As luck would have it I happened to have the perfect matching papers too. No I don't usually pick my papers in advance, that would be far too organized. All of the great papers on this card are from the Basic Grey Sweet Threads collection and the soft colours are beautiful.

The image was give a generous dose of magical fairy dust otherwise know as stickles and even the embellishments came together quickly once I settled on the obvious choice of flowers and pearls.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge this week. I am looking forward to stopping by your blogs for a visit. Thanks for stopping by.
