StampFairy Challenge #7

Good morning all, it's Monday and that means another StampFairy challenge. This week our theme is handmade flowers.

This week I have chosen the lovely Nelly from the Nelly and Leo in love collection which can be found in the StampFairy store. I have used Copics and kept the colouring simple this week as I wanted to focus a little bit more on the embellishment. The papers that I have used are from Memorybox and My Mind's Eye.

The large flower on my card was made using the Tim Holtz tattered flowers die. I cut the small and medium flower several times and misted them with water. I then scrunched the flowers around a large pearl gem and glued the layers together with glossy accents. I have also punch a few small flowers which I have accented with gems.  The leaves were cut using Magnolia doohickey dies.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. Be sure to check out the StampFairy challenge blog to see the creations made by the rest of the DT. I look forward to seeing what you create.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Charisma Cardz - Valentines/Love
Paper Sundaes - Valentine's
Creative Inspirations - Valentine's/Love
Just Us Girls - Wild Card, make a 3D flower
Craft Your Days Away - Love
Do It With Digi's - Pink and Girly
A Spoonful of Sugar - Valentine

Tinsel James

I want to share with you my last card for the Christmas Cards All Year Round Challenge. Their theme this month was anything goes and to be eligible for a prize you must create at least 5 cards.

For my card this time, I have chosen to work with this stamp James wrapped in Tinsel from LOTV. I got these stamps just before Christmas and did not have a chance to put them to use this past season but I am betting they will be prominently featured for 2011.

James has been coloured in Copics and then I have used some glossy accents on the ornaments to give them a bit of dimension and shine. The tinsel has been done using the Martha Stewart tinsel glitter, I just love the look of this stuff.

This card was put together using scraps of paper that were left over from last years cards. I seem to be finding that the easiest way to tidy up my desk is to use it up. I have kept the card simple using only some nesties and punches for interest to keep it flat for mailing. My biggest problem last year was that I did not have enough flat cards that could be mailed so that is what I will be working on this year.

I want to thank you for stopping by, I hope that you are having a great weekend and I will see you again tomorrow for the next StampFairy Challenge.

This card will also be entered into the Simon Says Stamp challenge for this week which is Animal Antics.

Love

I want to share with you a card I made using the great sketch from Dawny P over on the Lili of the Valley challenge blog. This is one of the new LOTV stamps and it is just so sweet that I had to have it for my collection. Once again I have coloured this using my Copics and love the results.

Over on the Basic Grey challenge blog, they are having a DT call with their latest challenge which is flowers. The flowers that I have used are from Michael's although, I have ended up wishing that I had used my larger flowers from Wild Orchid. Oh well, live and learn.

I really appreciate all the lovely comments that you have left for my last few cards. I want to thank you all for stopping by and hope that you will come back to visit soon. Have a Great Day!

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Wishes

Good morning and welcome to the first Magnolia Licious Christmas All Year Long BlogHop of 2011. This group was created for Magnolia lovers who want to get a jump on the Christmas season by creating a Christmas card each month. I hope that we will inspire you to do the same. If you have arrived here from Barb's blog then you are right on track. If not, be sure to hop back to the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.

For my card I have chosen to work with Heartbreaker Edwin. He does not appear to be in stock at the moment but I am sure that Diana will have him back in the store soon. I will admit that I had actually coloured Edwin before Christmas and had not gotten around to putting him on a card but when I found these papers in the pile on my desk, I knew that I had to use him.

I will admit that I had actually coloured Edwin before Christmas and had not gotten around to putting him on a card but I knew that I had to use him when I found these Basic Grey papers in the pile on my desk. As I love adding some sparkle to my Christmas cards, I have also used some glitter paper from Best Creations that has been punched out using some of my wintry Martha Stewart Punches. I just love the icy feel of this card.

Thank you so much for dropping by, I hope you will enjoy the hop. Now continue on and hop over to Corrine who I am sure will have something great to share with you.

StampFairy Challenge #7

Good morning, I just have a quick post today. We have a new challenge for you today at StampFairy.

This week our theme is circles. After all the snow that we received yesterday, George seemed like an appropriate choice for my card. In keeping with the theme of circles, I opted to try a round card. I kept the embellishment rather simple, a mat cut on the Silhouette, a few peel off snowflakes and an additional touch of shimmer from a beautiful bow.

I want to thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to stop by the StampFairy Challenge Blog and see the rest of the DT inspiration. Then I hope that you will join us in the fun, I look forward to seeing what you create.

Warm Me Up!

The snow is falling heavily outside. I am sitting here dreaming of a warm sunny island vacation. Henry here, with his tropical shirt and frozen concoction knows exactly what I mean. If I look at him long enough, I can almost hear the waves of the ocean and feel the warmth of the sun.

To carry through with the tropical feel I have used some of my stash of Scenic Route papers to make my card. I have also done some recycling with this card as the green mat behind my image is actually the packaging from the Prima lily that I have used as an embellishment.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Stampin For the Weekend - Getting Warmed Up
Stamp Something - Cute Somethings
Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges - Anything Goes

Whiff of Joy is currently holding their 1st guest designer call for 2011. I will be entering the card above but want to share with you all another card that I have not yet posted. This card Spider Henry, a freebie from Whiff of Joy. He was a huge hit at my nephew's birthday.

B is for Black and White

Good morning everybody. It's Wednesday which means it's time for another great challenge over on the ABC Christmas Challenge Blog. Our theme this week is B is for Black and White.

We are very lucky this week to be sponsored by the fabulous Dustin Pike who was very generous and provided the DT with some of his wonderful images to work with. Dustin has also created a fantastic freebie especially for this challenge which you can pick up here

I have chosen to work with this great image called Snowman Build. I think that these little mice and their mousey snowman are just too cute.

For my card, I had a bit of an extra challenge as I discovered that I did not have any Black and White paper in my stash. The crafter in me worked around that. Using some stamps and embossing powders, I was able to create two patterned papers. I also used my Cuttlebug to create an embossed background.

We have some rules for this Challenge:
To Qualify for the Prize/s you must only use black and white things to make your card.
but you can add some colour to the Image.
You Must make a Christmas card or Christmas project using the Freebie or a Dustin Pike Image/or older freebie or a High Hope Image.

Non Dustin Pike submissions will only qualify for the Top 3

The Prizes
We have 2 prizes:
1st place winner will receive 2 Dustin Pike digi images
2nd place winner will receive 1 Dustin Pike digi image

StampFairy Challenge #6

Good morning, I hope that you all had a great weekend. We had a good snowfall on Saturday, looks like we are back to our typical Canadian winters and last year was just a rarity. Anyway, I was able to spend most of my day crafting so I can't complain too much.

Over on the StampFairy Challenge Blog we have another challenge for you today.  The theme this week is paper piecing and as you will see from my card I got a little carried away with this one.

I decided that I would combine several StampFairy images (which can be found here) to create a little space scene and I had the crazy idea that I would paper piece the whole thing. While enjoy paper piecing and I do love the end result that I achieved, I can tell you with much certainty that I won't be getting this carried away again. In order to fit it all on the card, I had shrunk down some of the images and cutting each of those tiny little stars should have sent me loony.

I hope that you will join us in the challenge by making a card of your own to share with us. Be sure to stop by the StampFairy challenge Blog as the rest of the DT have some wonderful creations to inspire you.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamp Something - Anything Goes
One Stop Craft Challenge - A Card for a Male
Stamp Scrap Doodle - Anything Goes

A Reminder and a Sneak Peak

Just a reminder that there is still time to join us on the ABC Christmas Challenge for our first challenge of the year where the theme is A for Anything Christmas.

I wanted to share this card with you. Tilda has been coloured and cut out so that she could be mounted on pop dots for the front of this card.  It was kept nice and simple. The base has been made following a sketch from an old challenge using a mix and match of Basic Grey papers from several Christmas collections.

I also want to share with you a little sneak peak with you all . Dustin Pike had designed an image especially for our next challenge.

Be sure to stop by the ABC Christmas Challenge on Wednesday to participate.

StampFairy Challenge #5

Good morning, I hope that you all had a great weekend. Over on the StampFairy Challenge blog we have another great challenge for you.  This week the theme is layers and buttons.

For my card this week, I chose to work with one of the adorable chubby angel bears which can be found in the store. These little cuties are just perfect for a new baby card.

One of the things that I love about making cards is that it uses up my leftover scraps and this card is no exception. Only the cardstock used for the base is new. Everything else with the exception of the image was a leftover from a scrapbook page that I made for a friend a few years back. I have coloured this sweet little bear in tones of yellow and blue to go with what remained of the moon and star paper (it is like this image was designed for this paper).

As you can see, there are lots of layers to this card. I have used some beads from my stash to spell out the word BABY and if you look closely you will see that my bow has been embellished with a button.

I hope that you will have some time to come out and play this week, I am really looking forward to seeing what you create and Gerda is offering up some of her great images as prizes.  Be sure to pop over to the StampFairy Challenge blog to see the rest of the gorgeous DT inspiration.

Celebrate

Good Morning, it is a bright and cheery day outside. If you close your eyes you can almost imagine that you are on a beach somewhere away from all this cold and snow. I want to show you a bright a cheery card that I have created using the new sketch over at Stamptacular Sunday.

I received this Tilda stamp as part of my winter stamp kit from Magnolia. I love this kit as it is so versatile and there are many uses for these stamps. This is the first one that has made it onto a card but there will be many more to come. Tilda has been coloured using Copics and I have added a touch of stickles to give her crown some sparkle. As the Basic Grey challenges have now resumed with the challenge to use dots and spots, I have paired up Tilda with the black spotted paper which really made her pop. I believe that the paper was from the Kyoshi line. The pink paper comes from my stash. The card has been embellished with just a few flowers and a simple sentiment to finish it off.

Be sure to pop by both of these challenges and see the awesome inspiration that the DTs have created. I hope that you are all having a great weekend. Be sure to come back tomorrow as I will have another  card to show.

A is for Anything Christmas

Happy New Year to you all! I can't believe that another Christmas season has come and gone. I hope you all had a happy holiday with family and friends. Did you manage to finish all of your Christmas cards? If you are like me and didn't start early enough for that, don't worry it is the start of a new year. If we all start now we can be better prepared for next Christmas. Over on the ABC Christmas Challenge blog we are starting the alphabet all over again and we have a nice easy card to get you started.

Before I get to my card I have a winner to announce from the Z is for Zero Time Left Blog Hop. I have used Random.Org to select a winner and come up with the following.

Sam - Whispers Cards, that make you the winner, congratulations. Please e-mail me by next Wednesday to claim your prize.

Our theme that has been chosed for this challenge is A for Anything Christmas. I have been adoring these LOTV bears for a while now but they arrived too late for me to use them this past year but you can bet that they will get lots of use before Christmas rolls around again.

I have used my Copics to colour the adorable Jenny Bear and all her shopping goodies and the embellished the image with some glitter and liquid applique for some dimension and sparkle. I have kept the card simple using only some cardstock and some scraps of DPs from MME and Scenic Route.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that you will play along with us as I do look forward to seeing all of your lovely cards. Be sure to hop over to the ABC Christmas Challenge blog and see all of the other gorgeous cards that the DT has created to inspire you.

Stamp Fairy Challenge Blog Hop

Good morning, I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday. It is a big day today, this is the day of the first StampFairy challenge blog hop.  If you have come here from Jane's blog you are right on track, if not, you might want to head over to the StampFairy Challenge Blog as you won't want to miss anything.

Our theme for this week's challenge is a Colour Explosion. Given how grey and drab it is outside, I had so much fun pulling out all my bright papers and embellishments that I have in my craft room.

For my card I have chosen to work with Toby SpringFairy. I have used my Copics and coloured him up in full cheery spring colour. He has been paired up with some of my remaining stash of Scenic Route papers (I always loved the bright colours of this line, miss them). To add some dimension to my card, I have popped up the little flowers on the antennae and added some flowers and bling for embellishment.

You will want to be sure to follow along with the hop, prizes have been hidden among the DT blogs. It order to win, you need to be a follower of the StampFairy Challenge Blog, participate in the current challenge using a StampFairy image and leave a comment on all to the DT blogs along the hop.

I want to thank you for stopping by today, be sure to visit again soon as I have more cards to share this week. I wish you all a bright and cheery day. Now hop along to Sharon who has another great colourful project to share with you.
