Through a Winter Window

Good Morning, today marks the start of another ABC Christmas Challenge. It is hard to believe that we are already more than half way through the year. This week we have reached the letter O and our theme is
O for Open it Up
We want you to see you decorate not just the outside of your card but the inside too.
We have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge who have generously offered prizes for some of our lucky participants.

who are offering

and

who have offered up this gorgeous selection of holiday goodies.

I decided to try something a little different this week,

I've made a trifold, shaker, window card. Try saying that 3 times fast. For the main image on my card, I have used this sweet little James bear who can be seen through the window behind a mountain of snow.

Here is a close up of the image.

On the inside panels, I have added a sentiment and a panel to write a little message to the recipient.

This card did have its challenges (lining up the window cut outs and running out of
co-ordinating papers) but I do love the end result. That said, I think that it will be a while before I try another one of these. I do hope though that it has inspired you a little bit and that you will join our challenge. I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations.

FORE Your Birthday!

Hello there! I hope that you are all managing this heat okay. I have checked the forecast and the weatherman is saying that we get a bit of a break today. Only a balmy high of 27C! If the humidity has actually dropped like they are predicting, that will be considered beautiful golf weather to some.

I have been having some fun with another Teddy Bo image. masculine cards usually do not come easy but I have been loving these fun little bears. I have coloured him up in some nice bright shades and them matched him with some of the great MME papers from the Lime Twist collection.Shhhh, don't tell but I have even stolen some matching golf tees from the golf bag in the garage for embellishments.

This card will probably make its way to my neighbour for his birthday. I have left room to add a sentiment when I find one that is just right. If you have suggestions, please send them my way.  The guys love to play golf on the weekends but I can't count how many times I have heard the line "we will never speak of this game again" so I have a feeling that it will need to have a play on words around the score and age.

Favorite Animals with Charisma

Good Morning, I have not been around much lately. My back has spazzed out on me and it has been enough for me just to go to work so I have not been busy in my craft room. I did have a chance a few days back though to make my card for the start of today's new Charisma Cardz Challenge.  This week the challenge is to show us your favorite animal.

We have been sponsored this week by two wonderful sponsors
who are both offering up some wonderful prizes.

For my card this week I have used one of my favorite little James Bear stamps from LOTV however, I have coloured him up in shades of pink and grey as I was going for a soft and girly look. When I was done colouring I discovered that this image went perfectly with some older Basic Grey papers that I had in my stash. As the paper is rather busy, I have kept the embellishment rather simple adding just a few snowflake details.

I have even finished the inside of this one so that it will be ready to go. My Christmas card pile is slowly building and it will be nice when late November comes and I will just be able to sit down and fill them out before having to mail them away.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. I can't wait to see all of your favorite animals.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Charisma - Sketch

Good Morning! I am back today to tell you about the new challenge over at Charisma Cardz but before I tell you all about it, I muast sat that was quite a turn out for our Anything Goes challenge. You had some beautiful creations.

This week we have a fun sketch for you.

We have been sponsored by
Simon Says Stamp
Photobucket
who have provided a $20 voucher
for one lucky participant

and
Pink Cat Studio

Where another lucky Winner gets 5 Digi's of their choice

This sketch is perfect for a quick and easy card. I put this card together while tidying up my craft room a bit. I find the easiest way to tidy my paper scraps is to just use them up. These MME papers had been left over from another project and I had in mind to create a monochromatic card. I put together the base and then decided that I would use this wonderful bird image from Stempleglede as the focal point of my card.

Things changed a bit after I stamped the image and realized that it just got lost on the card when it was left as a black and white image. I restamped the image on watercolour paper and pulled out my Distress Ink Markers and a waterpen to add some colour. I love the result as this beautiful image now pops against all of the black and white. All it took was a simple bow to finish it all off.

I hope that you will join us, I am looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful creations. Be sure to stop by the challenge blog and see the gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the DT.

A Special Day

Good morning. I had intended to share another Christmas gift with you today but I spent most of the weekend at the lake working on my tan so I did not get that completed. I will take a moment to remind you though that you do still have one week remaining to enter the current ABC Christmas challenge where the current theme is M for Make a Gift.

I was asked to make a special card for a 50th wedding anniversary last week. This wonderful Teddy Bo image was just perfect for the occasion. I coloured it up to match my new Indie Bloom papers from MME that had just arrived in the mail a few days before. You gotta love happy mail. I have added lots of lace and flowers to further add to the romantic feeling of the card.

The inside of the card was then decked out to match with the front using more papers from the same collection and a wonderful sentiment stamp that I had in my ever growing collection.
