ABC Christmas Challenge - G is for Girly

Wow, I can't believe that we are already coming to the end of March.  It seems like Christmas just passed but already we are one third of the way through another year and before you know it we will be sending out Christmas cards once again. I know many of you have been following along with us right from the start of the year and will have a great stash built up by the time December rolls around. If you are just joining us, welcome and don't worry, you still have lots of time left.

Before I tell you about this weeks challenge, I want to extend a big thank you to all of you who participated in our F is for Freebie challenge. You really rocked the sketch and I had a great time visiting all of your blogs to see your lovely creations.

This week it is Jayne's turn to host and she has chosen the theme
G is for Girly.
Jane has also selected a great colour combo of Pink, Purple and Silver.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Emma's Store
The Prize will be a £10.00 Voucher off any order at
Emma's store.

For my card I have used this sweet angel stamp that I won from Motivet Rubber Stamps a while back now. I felt that this image was a perfect feminine fit for our girly challenge and it gave me the perfect reason to colour her up. All of the papers are from my stast and I believe that they are actually quite a few years old, I love it when I can use up some of my older products and make room for new things.

I have added some silver touches using some peel off border stickers and some white ribbon edged with silver sparkle. The sentiment is from LOTV and the gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I want to thank you for stopping by today for a peek. Now it is over to you. Don't forget to stop by the ABC Christmas Challenge blog and see the gorgeous cards that my DT teamies have created to share with you.

Stamp Fairy Challenge - Photo Inspired

Welcome back. It has been a rather chilly weekend which proves that while it may technically be spring, winter isn't ready to go without a fight. I have just checked the forecast and the good news is that it is supposed to get warmer as the week progresses.

The other good news is that as this is Monday, it is time for the start of another StampFairy Challenge and this is one that is sure to warm you up. For our challenge this week Gerda has provided a picture to inspire you.

Don't the colours of this gorgeous apron just scream warm and sunny?

For today's card, I chose to work with the super cute Lenny flowers which you can find in the store here. I opted to colour him in shades of grey which I think really makes the flowers pop.

This card was enough to give the perfectionist in me a royal headache. I was determined to capture the feel of that beautiful apron.  I  had this gorgeous floral paper from an old Daisy D stack that captured the feel of the fabric and I had some yellow gingham check paper that I was also determined to use. Try as I might I just could not make it come together. I ended up forgoing the gingham and settled on this yellow paper from the same Daisy D stack. I did manage to pick up the rick rack trim and I have continued the homespun feel by embellishing with just a couple of buttons.

In the end, it all came together and I love the bright and cheery feel of this card.
I hope that you will join us and give the challenge a go. I for one would love to see your interpretation of this image and I look forward to visiting your blogs to see your lovely creations. Remember that in order to be eligible for a prize, you must use a StampFairy image for your card.

Before you go, don't forget to stop by the StampFairy Challenge blog where you will see the rest of  the gorgeous cards that the DT have created to inspire you.

Christmas All Year Long

Good morning and welcome to the Magnolia Licious Christmas All Year Long BlogHop. This group was created for Magnolia lovers who want to get a jump on the Christmas season by creating a Christmas card each month. I hope that we will inspire you to do the same. If you have arrived here from Barb's blog then you are right on track. If not, be sure to hop back to the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.

This is my first shaped card that I have made using my new Grand Calibur machine and some large format dies from Spellbinders and Go Kreate. I can see that I will be using these more and more in the future.

I decided that this shaped card would be perfect to create a little scene. I started by masking the Winter Forest which is available here from Magnolia Licious with the Starry Sky background stamp from Hero Arts. I embossed the sky and used distress inks to create the evening sky.  The image Tilda with Fir appears to be out of stock at the moment but I am sure that if you contact Diana she will be more than happy to order it for you. She has been coloured with Copics and popped in front of the background using popdots for some dimension.

I hope that you will be inspired to join us today and start making your Christmas cards. Your next stop on the hop is Cordine who I am sure has something gorgeous to share with you.

Happy Hopping!
Carissa

StampFairy Challenge - A New Sketch

Hello Everybody, I hope that you have had a Moo-ey Wonderful weekend. The sun has been shining here and we have started, to see the first signs of spring. Fingers crossed that we don't get any more snow.

It's Monday again and that means that it is time for another StampFairy challenge.
This week Gerda has been hard at work and has designed another wonderful sketch to follow.

For my card I have chosen to work with the Udderly adorable Betsy. She is a new StampFairy addition that was released on Friday of last week (for more images, please see the full set at the bottom of my post).

I wanted to keep my card feeling fresh and spring like so I dug through my scrap drawer and came up with these great green papers. For an extra pop of colour, the doily which was cut on the silhouette has been inked in spiced marmalade and barn door distress inks. I have used the same colour pops as accents for my flowers.

As promised, here is the full release of Betsy the Cow. http://www.stampfairy.com/digistamps_critters_betsy.htm

And, Gerda has designed the cutest new Birthday images which are being released today. http://www.stampfairy.com/digistamps_misc_lennycupcakes.htm

I hope that you will stop by and visit on the StampFairy challenge blog to see the gorgeous creations that my Design Teamies have created. After that, it is over to you, we are looking forward to stopping by your blogs to see the lovely cards that you make this week.

Under the Sea

Woohoo, Magnolia Down Under is having their second Birthday and they have a great challenge going on to celebrate. The theme of the challenge is Two and they want us to use things in pairs on our cards this week.

I started my card with two wonderful Magnolia images (Little Mermaid and Sea Horse). I have had the mermaid all coloured and sitting on my desk for months and each time I tried to add her to a card I didn't like the way it was turning out. Now I know that she was destined to be on this card. It seems somehow fitting for a Down Under challenge. Both images have been coloured with Copics and embellished with generous doses of stickles.

I have used the Sketch by Bev from the  Just Magnolia challenge as the basis for my card.

I liked the 2 circles.  I have used one of these for my image and one for a doily which I thought reminded me of the whitecaps of the ocean surf.  The two designer papers that I have used are from Prima, I just love the warm glow from the colours in this collection.

There are also a few challenges out there this week for easel cards so I decided to have another go at the twisted easel. I am really glad that I did because I love the way that this card had turned out.  For the base of my card, I have used more of the same Prima papers.

To embellish the card I have used flowers in multiples of two.  I have added some swirly bling and dew drops to add to the feel of water and movement. If you look closely you will also notice that there are two starfish that have been cut with my Quikutz and tucked amongst the flowers.

I want to wish everyone over on the Magnolia Down Under team a Happy Birthday. Thanks for the wonderful challenges.

Thanks to all of you for stopping by. I hope that you will come back soon.
Happy Crafting.

In addition to the freebie, I have created a sketch for you to follow. I kept is simple so that you will have the freedom to embellish your projects as you desire, but we must be able to see the map of the sketch in your creations.

I have used the more of the glittery paper that I bought for my green card earlier this week along with some Basic Grey and some Core d'inations cardstock which I have embossed and sanded for more texture. For embellishment I have kept things simple using only a ribbon bow and some punched snowflakes accented with rhinestones for some more sparkle.

Stamp Fairy - Going Green

Good Morning. I hope that you all remembered to reset your clocks yesterday. If not, stop reading as you are an hour late for work already.
It is Monday again and that means that it is time for another StampFairy Challenge.

This week we are going green. I have chosen to work with Herb in honour of St. Patrick's Day which is coming up on Thursday. I have coloured the image with Copics and then inked the edges with my antique linen distress ink to give the creamy yellow glow and tie it into my card.

I picked up this gorgeous designer paper by Best Creations from my LSS last weekend just for this challenge. I love all the shimmer that their products have.  I found this acrylic flower in my stash and with the help of some die-cut leaves and a little bit of bling, it became the perfect embellishment for my card.

I hope that you will join us this week and show us your green creations. Remember that to be eligible for a prize that you must use a StampFairy image. If you don't have one there are lots of great images to choose from and some freebies too over at the StampFairy store.

Be sure to stop by to see the rest of the DT creations on the StampFairy Challenge Blog.

Because I'm feeling lucky today, I will enter this card into the following challenges:

A Bird in Hand

I want to share with you a rather simple card today.  I coloured this image up months back now and it sat on my desk just waiting to be turned into a card. There are so many spring challenges on right now that this image is just perfect. I have paired it up with a few of the gorgeous new papers from the Memory Box which are so fresh and cheerful. The layout of my card is from one of the sketch challenges that was being run a few weeks back. I loved the sketch but never got around to using it in time for the challenge.

To complete my card I have added a simple sentiment using my distress inks and a stamp from Hero Arts. I punched a few butterflies and embellished with a trail of bling.

I hope that I have inspired you to create something today and I want to thank you all for all of the lovely comments that you have been leaving for me. It is such a joy to read them all.

Happy Crafting!

Stamp Fairy - A Sketch

Good morning, I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. I have not done a lot of crafting as I was taking care of my nephews this weekend while my sister was house shopping. We had fun baking cookies and going to the show.
It is Monday again and that means that it is time for another StampFairy Challenge. This week we have a wonderful sketch that was created by Gerda to inspire you.

For my card this week, I have used one of the sweet bunnies from the Bunnies Easter collection that is available in the store. I loved the blue, white and red theme from the other week so much that it has carried over onto today's card. I have a feeling that this is going to become a combo that will be seen on many of my cards.

All of the papers are from Memory Box and the floral embellishment is from Prima.

I hope that you will play along this week. There were some wonderful creations last week. Just a reminder that all entries must use a StampFairy image to qualify. There is a great selection in the store as well as a page of adorable freebies for you to try.
Stuck with the sketch, be sure to pop by the StampFairy challenge blog. The DT have some more gorgeous creations there to inspire you.

E is for Embossing

Good morning, it is time for another ABC Christmas Challenge and this week the theme is
E for Embossing
You must create a Christmas card that uses either heat or dry embossing and you must use at least 3 different embellishments

We have two great sponsors this week who are offering some fantastic prizes for 3 lucky participants.

Sponsor Simon Says Stamp - $15 shopping Voucher

Photobucket

and

Stamp Boutique
1st Prize = 3 digi stamps
2nd Prize = 2 digi stamps

For my card this week I have used the oh so sweet James with his pile of presents from LOTV and coloured him with Copics.  I have used papers from the Basic Grey Jovial collection as the background and matted my image with a mat that I made using some Coredinations cardstock which has been embossed in my Cuttlebug and then sanded lightly to reveal the core colour.

My card inadvertently became an easel card when I finished layering all my papers and image and realize that I had built the card upside down. As top opening cards don't tend to stand well I cut the front off and turned it into an easel card.  I used another embossed piece of cardstock as a mat for my sentiment which I heat embossed and then I uses some distress inks to tone it to match my card.
The card was finished off with a sheer red ribbon bow, a poinsettia  and some bling.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope that you have been inspired to join us. Be sure to stop by the
ABC Christmas Challenge blog and see the gorgeous card that the rest of the DT have created.
