All Stitched Up for Christmas

Hi again, I am back with a second post tonight and another new card to share. This one is for the new challenge at Charisma Cardz where the theme this week is Stitching.

For my card I have used an image that I have coloured a while back. The papers are some random goodies that were in my scraps and matched the image. While I do sometimes enjoy pulling out the sewing machine and sewing the layers together, for this card my stitching has been done using a fine tipped black marker.

Hopefully you will opt to have a go with this challenge. As always we have some fantastic sponsors...

PRIZE ONE -

One lucky winner will receive 4 stamps or 1 stamp set.

PRIZE TWO -
Marker Pop
MarkerPOP.com

Have a great evening and Happy Crafting!

P is for Penguins

Hi there! I didn't make it back to post a card this weekend but I did get a few made that I will be sharing with you tonight. The first is for the ABC Christmas Challenge where we have a new challenge that started yesterday. The theme this time around is
Things that Start With P

We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge:

Stamp and Create.com

and

For my card I have chosen one of the older stamps in my collection for . This adorable little penguin pair from Motivet which I believe is still available as a digi. I've coloured them up to match with some fun winter papers that I have had in my stash for quite a while now. I've even added a few polka dots to their scarves to jazz them up a bit. After assembling my card, I dug through my stash again to find some embellishments and was able to come up with some pearls and a poinsettia that matched.

What do you have in your collection that starts with P? I hope that you will join us and show us what you find.

A Royal Summer Birthday

Good Morning. Here in Canada, it is the Friday before a long holiday weekend and I must say that I am certainly looking forward to it. The weatherman says that it will be sunny and not too hot which means that it is just perfect.

Today is also the start of a new challenge at Stamp and Create with Magnolia. This time around, the theme is
Summer Royalty
Princess, Prince, Queen, Jester images.
If you don't have a "royal" image, you can use Royalty colors: Red, Purple, Gold, Dark Blue

Prize:

Stamp and Create carries a wide range of Magnolia stamps at some of the lowest prices!

For my card I have coloured Jester Tilda which is currently available in the shop. I coloured her up in Royal colours of red and purple with touches of gold and did not give much thought to paper until I was done.  Fortunately a few weeks ago I had picked up the Soleil paper pad from Basic Grey which matched the image perfectly.

As I was going for a Royal feel I thought that this card should be properly embellished. Lots of flowers and a diecut frame for the mat added just he detail that I was looking for. A simple sentiment on a little banner finished it all off.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have some time to be back again with something else to show you over the weekend. Until then have a great day!

I would like to enter my card in the following additional challenges:

O' Christmas Tree

Good evening. I have two post to share with you tonight. The first is for the new challenge over on the ABC Christmas Blog where our new theme that started yesterday is

O Christmas Tree

Our fab sponsor this time is: Bugaboo Stamps
One lucky Random winner will win 7 Digi images for their choice

This is the card that just did not want to come together, funny as when I look at it now it seems simple enough. The image is from a Hero Arts set that I had picked up last holiday season. It has been embossed in white and then I have used Perfect Pearls to add some colour, up close it has a gorgeous shimmer.

The problem was the layout of the card, this image is quite large and really stood out on its own so I didn't want anything too fussy but when I was trying to pair it up it just kept fading into the bold papers. Finally I have found a layout that works and I have added just some dimensional glitter to decorate the tree and finish it all off.

I hope that you will join us for our challenge. I look forward to seeing your beautiful Christmas Trees.

No Embellishments

Good Evening, I hope that you have been having a wonderful summer.  I completely forgot to post my card on my blog last week so I am here with a little reminder about the current ABC Christmas Challenge. Not to worry if you haven't got a card made yet as you still have one more week to join us.

The theme of the challenge is
'N is for NO Embellishments'

You can go CAS if you like...but just make sure you keep well away from all of the 'frilly' stuff...that means:

No gems or pearls
No ribbon or lace
No brads or flowers
No charms or twine
No beads or dew drops
No pins or card candi
No buttons or bells!
Or anything else you can think of!

But you CAN use glitter, Stickles, flocking etc

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is

Please visit the store and browse Stamp Fairy’s wonderful images.  We hope Stamp Fairy’s images inspire YOUR creativity.

Stamp Fairy are offering a prize of $10 to the Stampfairy digi stamp store:

For my card, I opted to just have a play and get inky. I dug into my Hero Arts stamps to find a couple that I had not played with before and started inking them up.

The background was done with Distress inks and water on watercolor paper to get that soft subtle look and then I have used a darker distress ink and some sparkle embossing powder to stamp the snowflake on top. It is hard to see in the photo but this card really shimmers in the light.

I may need to make a series of these as this one is really pretty and it will be so great to pop in the mail.

Lets Get Wet at Stamp and Create with Magnolia

Good evening, I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend. I have just come home from the city after having gone with my mom to see the musical production of Cats. I had always wanted to see this one and it was wonderful. If you get the chance to see it I would recommend that you go.

Tonight I am here to share with you the card that I have made for the current challenge at
Stamp and Create with Magnolia which started yesterday. The theme this go around is
Lets Get Wet
For my card I have used Pearl Tilda which Lacey currently has in stock in the store. I have masked her with the oyster shell and then coloured her up to match the watery blues of a card base that I had put together some time ago.

These two images combined make up a rather large image and they easily became the focal point of the card which allowed me to keep the embellishments to a minimum. I have added only a simple shimmery bow and a resin corner which reminded me of the surf to finish it all off.

I do hope that you will join us with your own watery creations. There have been so many wonderful watery Magnolia images and I look forward to seeing what you create.

Summer Bright

Good Morning, I am back with a second card to share today.  This should have been posted last week but by the time that I realized that I forgot to publish it, it just made more sense to wait for today and publish it as a midway reminder.

What is a Summer themed image?:
Flowers, Butterflies, Sports, Vacation, Sunshine/Outdoors, Father's Day, water/beach, Birthdays. Colors are Bright and Vibrant

For my card I chose to use Tilda Loves Flowers which Lacey currently has available in the store.
She has been coloured in some of my favorite bright colours to match this card base that I had put together some time ago.  More bright summer flowers and a butterfly diecut finish it all off.

You still have one week to join us for the challenge. I do hope that you will play along. I look forward to seeing your cheerful and bright creations.

K for Kept Safe

Good evening, I hope that you have had a happy Wednesday.  I have a card to share for our final midway inspiration for the ABC Christmas challenge. Beginning with our next challenge there will only be the main challenge post. Just in case you have forgotten, the theme of this challenge is

Kept Safe
with the idea being to use something that you have been keeping tucked away for just that special project.

Our sponsor for this challenge is:
Kenny K with a prize of any 3 digital images from their shop

This week I opted to create a gift bag, you can never have too many come the holidays. The images from Tickled Pink have been merged together to create this darling Victorian couple who have been coloured using traditional holiday colours to celebrate the holiday season.

My Kept Safe item was the lace which I ordered from Wild Orchid Crafts some time ago now. I have been using it sparingly as lace like this has been hard to find locally but it seemed appropriate to use some vintage style lace with this image.

The poinsettia has been cut using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and then accented with glitter and a fuzzy center. The little banners could be considered another Kept Safe item, as they were assembled about 6 months ago and have been sitting on the corner of my desk just waiting for a project that suited them.
