Something's Under the Tree

Okay, so it may be a little early for wrapping Christmas presents and I usually like to get past Halloween before I put up the tree. I was having some fun today in my craft room and the challenge over at ABC Christmas this week is Under the Tree so this is the package that someone will find under my tree this year.

I have once again used my Copics to colour the new Sneaky Tilda from this year's Christmas release. She is a cutie and it is nice that she will be so versatile, I can see her being used on many Birthday cards in the future. I added some Candy Cane Stickles to the bow on her present because Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a little sparkle and shine.

I have matted Tilda using papers from a couple of the Basic Grey Christmas collections. I love that I can purchase some of the papers each year and they often work together so nicely.  The circle mat has been popped up so that I could add some lace from my stash to give the bag some frill. I have added more frills to the top of the bag using some of my Martha Stewart punches.  The Poinsettias have been stickled for some extra sparkle and I have used some rhinestone flowers for the centres to really make them shine. Lastly I created a little tag on which I have stamped and embossed a little sentiment.

Traditional Christmas

Good morning everyone.  Today I wanted to show you a traditional Red and Green Christmas card that I have created for this weeks challenge over at the Totally Tilda Challenge Blog. I decided that this time I would do something a little different, so I have made my first easel card. I really like the look of these cards and with the help of some instructions I have successfully pulled it off.

Tilda with Gifts has been coloured with Copics and Prisma pencils then accented with Stickles to give her a little sparkle. I have cut her out and popped her up in front of a background that I cut using my spellbinders and inked with Distress inks.

The card has been put together using some of the new Basic Grey Jovial collection (I think that this is my favourite Christmas paper ever as the colours are so rich and traditional). The border has been punched using the new Martha Stewart snowflake border punch which is destined to become a favourite of mine. I have stickled around both sentiments for some extra sparkle and added a bow and some Prima poinsettias. To add one last traditional touch I have punched some leaves and added some red pearls to resemble the fresh greens that we hang every year.

Tilda Goes to the Pumpkin Patch

Well, it has been a while now since my last blog post. Vacation was great all be it a little wet. I have been having fun the last few nights playing in my craft room and thought that I would share one of my new cards with you all.

I have created this little scene of Tilda at the pumpkin patch by masking together two of the Magnolia pumpkins. I have then popped Tilda up in front of them as if she were posing for her picture. All images have been coloured using Copics in nice bright fall colours.

I have put together the card using some of the Basic Grey Max Whiskers collection. To add a country touch I have used some buttons and felt flowers that I bought with the good intentions of using a few years ago now (glad to finally put them to use).

Spreading Joy

As I am currently away on vacation, I was not able to participate in this month's Blog Hop over at the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long Blog.. I did want to share this card with you that I had been intending to use if I had participated.

Tilda has been masked in front of the trees and coloured with Copics. I then used flowersoft to add a fresh blanket of snow and create a winter wonderland effect. I have matted the card using some of my favorite Martha Stewart border punches and Basic Grey paper from the Eskimo Kisses line. Lastly I have embellished with some shapes that I punched out of this fantasic glitter paper. I don't know who makes the paper but it adds a rich shimmer to everything which makes it perfect for Christmas cards.

Sketch with a Spin

The Sweet Stop is have a wonderful challenge that they have called a Sketch with a Spin. In this case the spin was that you needed to use the colours mustard yellow and red. I just happened to be colouring an image in these colours when this challenge came up and the timing couldn't be more perfect.

This little Hanglar cutie has been coloured up with my Copics. I wanted to try my hand at something nice and bright and this image was perfect for it. I had to tweak the sketch a little and leave off one of the elements in order to fit such a large image on my card but I don't feel that the element is missed at all by leaving it out.

The papers that I have used are a mix of Basic Grey from various collections and some October afternoon that I had picked up just because I thought that it would be great on a card.

A Special Birthday Wish

Wow, it has been a while since my last post. Time sure does fly. Over the weekend I did manage to get some crafting done and I have a few cards to show you over the next few days. The first card that I will share with you has been created for Challenge 29 over at Basic Grey Challenges. They have a wonderful sketch this week by Tara G to base your card on.

I knew as soon as I saw this sketch that it was going to involve Tilda sitting off to the side of the circle. As soon as I settled on using some of my new Basic Grey Capella papers, this card came together in a flash. I know that this sketch is going to be a favourite of mine.

This time I decided to do something a little different and give my Copics a break. Tilda has been coloured using Prismacolour pencils and mineral spirits. I must admit to loving the way that the colours blend so nicely. The only accents I have opted to add to the sketch were a Prima flower and some leaves. The sketch is so pretty as is that I didn't see the need to fill it up with lots of little embellies.

Celebrate the Holidays

It is time to celebrate the Holidays over at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. The challenge is to create something with the theme of Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving or Christmas. I have chosen to ink up Silent Night Tilda and make another Christmas card. I figure the more that I make now the less likely that I will be scrambling when December rolls around.

I had a lot of fun putting this card together. It is based on another a fantastic sketch by Dawny P over at Just Magnolia and has been put together using more of my favourite Basic Grey papers.

Tilda has once again been coloured with Copics. I have added a little chalk around the edges of the background although it is difficult to see in my photos. Polar White Flower Soft has been used to provide a blanket of fresh fallen snow and Stickles add some shimmer to the snowflakes that are still falling.

Paper Piecing, Give it a Whirl

What a week, I have been busy moving my scraproom from our spare bedroom to a new room in our almost finished basement. I will post pictures of my new space another day when I have finished setting it up. Right now I am making cards on my dining room table while the stairs to the basement are being varnished. It is about all I can do with limited supplies. Hopefully I can get some images coloured and they will be ready to turn into cards when I can get back downstairs.

I decided that I would try my hand at paper piecing today. I have chosen to colour this lovely Hangar image with my Copics and then I have paper pieced her hat and shirt with some of the paper from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush collection. I love the end result. The polka dotted paper had the shading variances that are typical of Basic Grey paper and worked out perfectly to give her some shading. I added a tiny bit more with my copics to ensure that it was all in the right places.

The card has been put together using more of the Sugar rush collection. I have based the layout on a sketch over at The Sweet Stop. I have not added a sentiment at the moment as I am unsure of what I will use this card for. I hope that you have enjoyed looking. Stop back soon.

It is raining out and I am trying to avoid having to go out in it so I thought that this would be a good time to post this little cutie that I did up for the challenge over as Sunday Sketch and Stamp.

This lovely Hanglar stamp was sent to me by Susanne over in Sweden. Thanks again Susanne.

I have once again used my Copics to colour her up. The papers that I have used for my card are a combination of some Basic Grey Wisteria and some very old papers that were in my stash (nice to have a chance to use them up).

Create 4 Fun and Hero Arts

I decided to try something a little different last night and put this little card together without colouring. The card is based on the weekly sketch over at Create 4 Fun.. I decided to work backwards and grabbed my Pink Paislee Queen Bee paper pad and built the card. Then I went looking for a stamp that would suit the card and found this pretty garden silhouette from Hero Arts that had not previously seen ink.

I finished my card off using some of my Martha Stewart butterflies and a little bling for some sparkle.  Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.
