Too Cute To Spook

Good morning! It looks like another miserable day weather wise which means it will be perfect for doing some crafting later. First I have to spend some time on a project for work. How I do hate working on the weekend even if I can do it from the comfort of my couch! Before I start that though, I thought that I would take a few minutes to enjoy my coffee and share with you a card that I have made just for the fun of it.

I don't tend to make many Hallowe'en cards but when I saw this adorable Teddy Bo image I knew that I wanted to colour him up. I love the bright orange pop of the pumpkin against the darker spooky papers from Basic Grey. He is all set for a night of Trick or Treat and candy. The candy stickers that I had in my stash were the perfect accent.

Some friends have a little one that they plan to dress as a pumpkin for her first All Hallow's Eve so I think that I will give this card to them.

Happy Halloween!

U for Up to You - Midway Reminder

Good Morning, I am back from my trip to New York City. I had a lot of fun and even managed to get a head start on some of my Christmas shopping. I will have some pictures to share soon.

For now, I am here to remind you that you still have one more week to participate in the current challenge on the ABC Christmas Challenge.

The current theme is
U for Up to You
and this challenge is proving to be popular, we are already up to almost 300 entries.

For my card, I have used another wonderful image from Teddy Bo. I have coloured this little cutie to match my new Basic Grey papers which I just love, they remind me of some of their older classic collections which are still some of my favorites.

The image has been mounted using foam tape to allow me to tuck a holiday snowflake ornament in behind as an accent and I have layered the flower on top to boost the holiday feel.

FORE Your Birthday!

Hello there! I hope that you are all managing this heat okay. I have checked the forecast and the weatherman is saying that we get a bit of a break today. Only a balmy high of 27C! If the humidity has actually dropped like they are predicting, that will be considered beautiful golf weather to some.

I have been having some fun with another Teddy Bo image. masculine cards usually do not come easy but I have been loving these fun little bears. I have coloured him up in some nice bright shades and them matched him with some of the great MME papers from the Lime Twist collection.Shhhh, don't tell but I have even stolen some matching golf tees from the golf bag in the garage for embellishments.

This card will probably make its way to my neighbour for his birthday. I have left room to add a sentiment when I find one that is just right. If you have suggestions, please send them my way.  The guys love to play golf on the weekends but I can't count how many times I have heard the line "we will never speak of this game again" so I have a feeling that it will need to have a play on words around the score and age.

A Special Day

Good morning. I had intended to share another Christmas gift with you today but I spent most of the weekend at the lake working on my tan so I did not get that completed. I will take a moment to remind you though that you do still have one week remaining to enter the current ABC Christmas challenge where the current theme is M for Make a Gift.

I was asked to make a special card for a 50th wedding anniversary last week. This wonderful Teddy Bo image was just perfect for the occasion. I coloured it up to match my new Indie Bloom papers from MME that had just arrived in the mail a few days before. You gotta love happy mail. I have added lots of lace and flowers to further add to the romantic feeling of the card.

The inside of the card was then decked out to match with the front using more papers from the same collection and a wonderful sentiment stamp that I had in my ever growing collection.

Careful, Don't Fall In!

It is another hot, sunshiny day which is perfect for the start of this week's challenge over on the Charisma Cardz blog where our theme this week is SUMMER.

We have some great sponsors who have generously offered up some wonderful prizes.

All that Scraps

One lucky winner will receive 4 stamps or 1 stamp set.

and
Joanna Sheen

who have offered up a £10 Voucher for another lucky participant.
Now for my card...

As you can tell, this was the card that I gave my dad for Father's Day. He spent two years as part of the canoe club so when I saw this image, I knew I had to have it.
It has been coloured up in bright cheery colours which match these Lime Twist papers from MME perfectly.

On the inside I added a little pocket to tuck the gift certificate that I was giving him. This left just enough room at the top for me to add a little note.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I do hope that you will join us!

In the Meadow You Can Build a Snowman...

Good Morning, can you tell what to expect today?
It is so hot outside that my brain must be trying to cool down because Winter Wonderland is the song that popped into my head when I sat down to make a midway card for the
This great Teddy Bo  image is called Snow Bea. She is so sweet and was just the perfect image for the song. There was a part of me that was tempted to colour it up in shades of blue and white but I just couldn't resist the draw of these papers and their bright, fun colours and what better way to accent those colours than with lots of sparkle.
I have kept the layout rather simple as I am working hard to create some cards that will actually be suitable for the mail.
I hope that you have been inspired and will play along. We have two great sponsors offering up some fantastic prizes for a couple of lucky participants.
The lovely Heidi at Simon Says Stamp are offering one lucky entrant
a $15 voucher to spend in her store

Friends and Flowers

I have been loving all of the Teddy Bo images lately so I decided to pick out a few of my favorites and have a bit of a play with them. The image that I have chosen to work with first is" little ickle elefant".  I have coloured the image with Copics and added some stars and script to the background.

The card has been put together following the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday, which I have rotated to better suit my image.

This is the first time that I have used the new Sweet Threads papers from Basic Grey but they are sure to become a favorite as I love the soft colours in this pad.

After I finished assembling the card all of the edges seemed a bit hard for this soft, sweet image so I pulled out my stash of Wild Orchid flowers. As I don't work in pastel colours often I had lots of flowers to choose from and easily put together a bouquet which softens everything up and pulls it all together.

I want to thank you all for stopping by.
