A Prescription to Get Better

What a weekend it has been. I received a call while I was on the way home Friday evening informing me that my dad who has been ill for a while now needed to go back to the hospital. So we spent the better part of the night in the ER getting him admitted. Just before I was to head over there again today, I received a call saying that he had been released. A big sigh of relief.

To help keep my mind from going places it was better not to go I did some colouring this weekend and I created a little get well card for him.  Dr Edwin is a special edition stamp from Magnolia Licious. I have coloured him up to match these wonderful papers from the MME So Sophie collection. As this is a masculine card I have kept the embellishments rather simple adding only a ribbon and a few pearls.

I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend. Be sure to come back again soon, this was not the only image I had a chance to colour and if all goes well, I may have another card for you soon.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

May Your Days Be Merry and Bright

Wow, only 2 more months until Christmas! It is October 25th and that means that it is time for the Magnolia-Licious Christmas all Year Long Blog Hop.
If you have made your way here from Angelique's blog then you are on the right track. If not, you will want to pop back there as she is the first stop along the way.
If you lose your way pop back to the Magnolia Christmas All Year Long Blog for a full list of participants.

For my card today, I have used Lighting Edwin and coloured him with copics in nice bright and cheery colours to match my new MME paperpad. I have added a touch of glossy accents to the little lightbulbs to make them shine and added a soft pink glow around them.

I wanted to make a fun masculine card. The DP is from a MME paper pad called 12 Days of Christmas that I picked up the other week at the local Scrapfest. I have based my card on the sketch from the CLP Challenge. In keeping with the fun decorating theme of the image I have finished it off with a great dotted ribbon and some fun ornament stickers that I have dangled from a diecut swirl.
I want to thank you for stopping by today. Before you leave, I hope that you will leave a little comment to let me know that you were here. Now it is off to your next stop on the hop Cordine who I am sure will have something gorgeous to share with you.
Hugs!

Bright Summer Fun

Wow, it has been a while since my last post. I hope that you are all enjoying a bright and sunny weekend. I am about to go finish off my garden but before I do, I wanted to share a sunny little card with you. I wanted to create a card for Father's Day and this Edwin from the Butterfly Dreams collection was perfect. I have actually managed to fit four stamped images on this card.

All of the papers for this card are from MME. and the flowers are Wild Orchid. Yes, I know some of you may be questioning the fact that I added flowers to a masculine card but I am lucky that my father likes the gardens and will not mind a few flowers on his card. It is hard to see in the photo but I have also added stickles to the flowers, snail and butterflies for some summer sparkle.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Wishes

Good morning and welcome to the first Magnolia Licious Christmas All Year Long BlogHop of 2011. This group was created for Magnolia lovers who want to get a jump on the Christmas season by creating a Christmas card each month. I hope that we will inspire you to do the same. If you have arrived here from Barb's blog then you are right on track. If not, be sure to hop back to the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.

For my card I have chosen to work with Heartbreaker Edwin. He does not appear to be in stock at the moment but I am sure that Diana will have him back in the store soon. I will admit that I had actually coloured Edwin before Christmas and had not gotten around to putting him on a card but when I found these papers in the pile on my desk, I knew that I had to use him.

I will admit that I had actually coloured Edwin before Christmas and had not gotten around to putting him on a card but I knew that I had to use him when I found these Basic Grey papers in the pile on my desk. As I love adding some sparkle to my Christmas cards, I have also used some glitter paper from Best Creations that has been punched out using some of my wintry Martha Stewart Punches. I just love the icy feel of this card.

Thank you so much for dropping by, I hope you will enjoy the hop. Now continue on and hop over to Corrine who I am sure will have something great to share with you.

I will be entering this card into the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland

Welcome to the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long Blog Hop. If you have made your way here from Nadyne, you are on the right track.  If you have just stopped by to visit be sure to start from the beginning as you won't want to miss any of the lovely creations that we have to share with you today.

It would be fair to say that this card came about as a series of happy accidents. Back in the summer I came across a card on a blog (I wish that I could find it again to share with you) and decided to try and copy the background paper. It was done using an emboss resist technique that I had just learned how to do. The paper turned out great, almost the same as the one that I was copying but it sat on my desk unused for months until one day a glittery snowflake happened to land on it and an idea started to form.

Once I had the idea, this card came together pretty quick.  I chose to work with one of my favourite Magnolias, Tilda and Edwin Skating, Diana has this stamp in stock over at the Magnolia-Licious store. They have been coloured using Copics and given an icy sparkle using stickles. A few more punched snowflakes and a shimmery ribbon was all it took to make this icy winter wonderland come to life.

I hope that you have enjoyed your little visit here and I hope that you will come back soon. Now be sure to hop over to Tanja's blog and see the wonderful creation that she is sure to have to share with you.

This card has also been entered into the Challenge at Fussy and Fancy Friday.

Better with a Friend

Thanks for stopping by again. I really appreciate all of the lovely comments that you have been leaving on my posts from the last few days. As promised I have something new to share with you all today.

I love this adorable little brother and sister stamp from Magnolia.  I had coloured these little cuties the other day but couldn't decide what I wanted to do with them at that time. Yesterday I happened to set them on some of the Capella paper from Basic Grey and it all just started to come together. I have inked all of the edges with distress ink to help the background blend with the designer papers. The only embellishments that were needed to finish off the card were a sentiment about friendship and a few flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This card will be entered into the Magnolia challenge that is on now over at the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog. I hope that you will stop by and take a peek as there are many crafty ladies who have posted their pretty creations as well.
