Welcome back. It has been a rather chilly weekend which proves that while it may technically be spring, winter isn't ready to go without a fight. I have just checked the forecast and the good news is that it is supposed to get warmer as the week progresses.
The other good news is that as this is Monday, it is time for the start of another StampFairy Challenge and this is one that is sure to warm you up. For our challenge this week Gerda has provided a picture to inspire you.
Don't the colours of this gorgeous apron just scream warm and sunny?
For today's card, I chose to work with the super cute Lenny flowers which you can find in the store here. I opted to colour him in shades of grey which I think really makes the flowers pop.
This card was enough to give the perfectionist in me a royal headache. I was determined to capture the feel of that beautiful apron. I had this gorgeous floral paper from an old Daisy D stack that captured the feel of the fabric and I had some yellow gingham check paper that I was also determined to use. Try as I might I just could not make it come together. I ended up forgoing the gingham and settled on this yellow paper from the same Daisy D stack. I did manage to pick up the rick rack trim and I have continued the homespun feel by embellishing with just a couple of buttons.
In the end, it all came together and I love the bright and cheery feel of this card.
I hope that you will join us and give the challenge a go. I for one would love to see your interpretation of this image and I look forward to visiting your blogs to see your lovely creations. Remember that in order to be eligible for a prize, you must use a StampFairy image for your card.
Before you go, don't forget to stop by the StampFairy Challenge blog where you will see the rest of the gorgeous cards that the DT have created to inspire you.
