Hearts and Flowers

Good morning, I am a little late with this one.  I had meant to come back and post this last night but I got stuck on the highway for 3.5 hours waiting for the road to open after a tractor trailer fire. By the time I finally got home it was way past time to go to bed.

The theme of this weeks challenge at Charisma Cardz is
Hearts and Flowers
a wonderful chance to make some cards for Valentine's Day which is coming up soon.

We have some great sponsors this week.

Stamp Fairy are generously offering our lucky winner a $10 voucher to their online store! Wow!
and Marker Pop
MarkerPOP.com
They are generously offering a $10 voucher for their online shop, be sure to pay them a visit!!

I have opted to use Herb Love, a cute little bear from StampFairy. This is such a sweet image and I have coloured it to match some fun love themed papers from MME, not that you can see much of them anymore. The shape of my card  was made using one of my new Go Kreate dies. I have set myself a goal to try to make more shaped cards this year.

I have finished it off with a combination flowers from Wild Orchid and some rolled roses that were made with a co-ordinating double sided paper and added a few gems for some extra sparkle.

Hope to see you there!

Tropical Santa

Good Morning, I hope that you are all staying warm. We have had a January cold snap and it is just best to stay indoors here which is perfect for crafting.

Over on the ABC Christmas Challenge, we have a new challenge starting today but before I tell you all about it, I would just like to welcome Fiona, Emma, Michelle and Chris to the team. It is great to have you all joining us.

Our new challenge is being hosted by Wilma and she has chosen the theme of
Bows or Boys

We have two wonderful sponsors joining us for this challenge

Bugaboo has generously provided some wonderful digis for the team.  Being as it is so cold here, I am trying to think warm and I have opted to use Tropical Santa. Oh how I would love to join him on a warm beach right about now but it is our busy season at work and I don't think that they would think to highly of me taking off to the land of sun and sand. Too bad!

I've stuck with traditional Christmas Colours but given them a bit of a punch to brighten them up for the beach. The sentiment was from a new Hero Arts set I purchased a while back and have not really used yet so you can expect to see more of these sentiments throughout the year. They seem to be perfect for a more CAS style of card which will be good for the mail.  Maybe if I should address them as they get made this year and then they might actually make it into the mail this year.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge, I look forward to seeing your creations.
Hugs, and have a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

I've decided to do something a little different for this challenge.  We brought home a new pup about a few weeks before Christmas (she was my early Christmas present). I took some shots of her checking out the tree and I figured that this would be a perfect excuse to create a scrapbook layout. I've based the layout on a sketch from Sketch Savvy and completed it using papers and embellies from the Jovial collection by Basic Grey. I love the effect that I was able to achieve by having the co-ordinating embellishments for this line. I think that I may need to consider buying like this more often as it made the task of creating the layout so easy and I love the finished result.

I do hope that you will join us for the challenge. Now that Christmas is over I am looking forward to spending a little more time looking at all of your blogs for inspiration.

****************

This seemed like a good opportunity to create a black and white card. I've decided to keep this one nice and simple and dug out an older Hero Arts stamp that had not been used in a while to use as my main image. The image has been stamped and embossed and then I have used some black and white papers one once again followed the current CLP sketch for my layout. The end result is an elegant card that could be used for many occaisions. Once I decide who I will give it to I will add a sentiment and a little verse on the inside.

I hope that you will join us, I look forward to seeing your creations.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Z for Zoo Animals and a DT Call

Good Morning, . I hope that you have all had a wonderful holiday.  I am back from my little holiday blogging break with a midway reminder post for the current challenge over at ABC Christmas.
The theme is
Z for Zoo Animals
For this challenge we are lucky enough to have two wonderful sponsors joining us.

Prize

and

Prize - a $10.00 Gift Certificate for Sweet Stamp

I still have one Christmas present that has yet to be given so I have decided to use this challenge to make a little gift bag to present it in. I've used this sweet new image from Saturated Canary and coloured her to match some papers from MME. The idea of having a mini elephant as a snowblowers is just too cute.
The layout is based on the current CLP sketch.

As we have had a few DT members step down in the last few weeks we are also currently holding a DT call so if you think that you want to join a great group and get on top of your Christmas cards throughout the year be sure to add DT beside your name when you enter the challenge.
