K for Keep it Simple

Good morning, today is the start of another ABC Christmas challenge. It is hard to believe but we are already almost halfway through the year. If you have not started on your Christmas cards, then this is the perfect time to start. Our theme this week is

K for Keep It Simple.

Our Lovely Sponsors this week are
Prize - a $10.00 Gift Certificate for Sweet Stamp Store
and
Prize is 2 stamps of winners choice.

I decided to play with a new Hero Arts stamp set that I had purchased on sale after the holiday was over. This is the first time that I have inked it up and I can tell that you will be seeing more of this before this coming holiday as I really like the results.

I started by stamping the leaves and berries and then I have stamped and embossed the flower before cutting it out and mounting it on pop dots. I have added a few pearls and a simple embossed sentiment and then matted it and added it to a card cut with a Spellbinders Grand Nestability die.

I hope you will join us with your own simple creations. Before you head off to start crafting be sure to visit the ABC Christmas Challenge blog for some more wonderful DT inspiration.

Tilda Nightingale

Hello again, just checked the weather and it looks like we are in for another unseasonably warm day. You would think that it was the middle of July but here we are not even out of May yet.
I have to say that I am liking this!

I am actually ahead of the game at the moment with a couple of upcoming DT projects already complete so I had a chance to play a bit last night. My dad has been having some health problems that require nurses to come in on a frequent basis. At least one of them has commented on the cards that my mom and I have made and I figured that it might be nice to make up some cards to say thank you for the great care that they have been giving him. So for my card today I have chosen Nurse Tilda.

The image has been sitting all coloured up on my desk for a few weeks now and when I saw this weeks Sketchy Challenge, I knew what I wanted to do, this sketch was perfect.

This is the first time that I have made a round card and I am sure that you will be seeing many more in the future as I really like the result.

If you haven't already given a round card a try, you might want to give this one a go.
Thanks so much for stopping by, it is so nice to have visitors as wonderful as you.
Have a great day and be sure to come back soon.

No Flowers Allowed - Charisma DT

Good Morning. It is supposed to be another beautiful sunny day so why do I need to go to work?

Before I head off I want to share with you a card that I have made for the start of the new challenge at Charisma Cardz. This week Jenni has chosen the theme of No Flowers Allowed.

This week we are generously sponsored by StampFairy who have offered up a fabulous prize for one lucky winner.

For my card this week I have decided to use my favorite StampFairy snowfriend George. Somehow for me, no flowers means snow. This is the first StampFairy image that I ever owned and it was a treat to create a new card with it for today.

I have coloured the image in my classic George colours to match some great papers that I had in my stash from Prima and MME and added some puffy snow for dimension.  I have embellished with several swirls and a layered diecut snowflake which are in keeping with the wintry feel, just like a cold windy and snowy day. You will see that I am slowly trying to break out of the box so to speak and I have even allowed a few of the embellies to overhang the edges just a little.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. I look forward to seeing what you create. Before you head off to start creating, be sure to stop by the Charisma Cardz blog and be inspired by the rest of the wonderful DT creations.

J for Jingle Belles

Good morning, I hope that you are all having a wonderful week. Today is the start of another
ABC Christmas Challenge and this week we are hosted by Samantha who has chosen the theme of
'J is for Jingle Bells'

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

And the fabulous prize is:

For my card (which you can also see over on the Bugaboo Blog today) I have used a Bugaboo image called Make it Snappy - Reindeer Trio. I was very inspired by one of the Bugaboo DT samples and coloured it up in a very similar fashion. I have given the center reindeer a red nose as I figured one of them needed to be Rudolph.

I have then wrapped my card up like a Christmas present using cardstock and finished it all off with a bow topped with some little bells that really do make this card Jingle all the Way!

I hope that you will join us for the challenge be sure to check out the rest of the DT inspiration over on the challenge blog before you head off to start creating.

Just for Mom!

What do you do when your mom is a card maker too, you make her an extra special Mother's Day card!

I can share this with you this morning as I have already given this card to my mom last evening. I have coloured the beautiful Tilda going Bananas in shades of purple to match with the gorgeous papers found in the MME So Sophie collection.

I have pulled out some of my favorite punches to add so extra detail to this card. The results are worth it in the end but it took four tries to get that border right. I was lucky to find these Prima flowers among my stash as they match the papers perfectly and they really added to the dimension of the card.

Love ya Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Pink and Girly - Charisma DT

Good Morning, today is the start of another Charisma challenge and this week our theme is

Pink and Girly

We have two wonderful sponsors who have generously provided prizes for some lucky participants
this week.

The Stamping Boutique are offering one lucky winner 5 digis of their choice.

and also Digi Doodle Shop, who are offering 2 lucky winners a $5 voucher each to spend in their online shop.

This is actually a take two on this challenge as I accidentally gave away the first card without ensuring that I had a photo. Ooops that will teach me.

Anyway, I think that this card is destined for my MIL for Mother's day as she loves her garden and the pretty pink florals will be perfect. The card features Peony, I picked her up at Scrapfest and this is the first time that I have coloured her up. I have used some old Chatterbox papers from my stash, I miss them as many of the papers were just perfect for cards. I have added some extra girly details using lace from Wild Orchid Crafts and a little peony stamp sticker that came from the dollar store.

I hope that you will join us in our challenge. Be sure to stop by the Charisma Cards blog to be further inspired by the rest of the DT creations.

Blog Candy!

I am thinking that it is time to give away a little candy. You have been very kind stopping by to visit and leaving such lovely comments. I do enjoy reading them. I felt that it was appropriate to give something back in return to thank you for the encouragement. So I have compiled a few little goodies to give away.

You don't have to be a follower to be eligible to win this candy, but i would love it if you were!

Just post the picture above on your side bar to help me spread the word and then leave your name in the Linky below.

This candy will close next Sunday May 13th.

Good luck everyone!

Little Things

Good evening, I hope that you have all had a warm and sunny weekend. I have been to another baby shower today and had intended to share the card that I had made for the mom to be but when I went to get the pictures from my camera I discovered that in my hurry to take the photos before I left that I had forgotten to check for the memory card.  Fortunately I have another card at the ready.

This card features Swan Family from Sweet Stamps. Now that spring is here, I am sure that this scene will be playing out in real life on some of the local ponds and lakes.
I coloured this gorgeous image up some time ago and had been searching for just the right papers to use for a card. I found in this combination from Basic Grey and MME. As the image really stands on its own I have kept the layout simple and added only a soft tulle flower and a sentiment to finish it off.

I for Icy Inspiration

Good morning, it is time for the start of another ABC Christmas Challenge. Our theme this time,

'I' for - Icy Inspiration

This week we have chosen two great, icy photos as the inspiration for your beautiful creations.

photo courtesy of pinterestWe also have 2 fabulous sponsors this week :-)

Simon Says Stamp
with a fab $15 voucher excluding postage.
and

I was inspired by the photo of the penguins as it reminded me of this adorable Penguin image from Motivet stamps.  I coloured it up and then went looking for papers (backwards I know) but it just happened to work wonderfully with this wintry background paper. I didn't have another piece of paper that went with it so I pulled out my distress inks and a large stamp to make an accent paper. I have picked up on the lime green accents with the large bow and added a little sentiment to finish it all off.
