StampFairy Challenge - Lucky Ladybug

Hi There! I hope that you have all enjoyed the weekend.  It is Monday and the start of another new week which brings us the start of another new StampFairy Challenge.
For our challenge this week Gerda has designed another wonderful sketch

I will admit that I struggled with this challenge for a bit trying to decide what I was going to do. There were a few ideas rolling around in my head but I settled on using Lenny Ladybug and I do love the end result.

The designer paper on my card is something from the very first paper stack I ever bought when I started scrapbooking over 10 years ago. In keeping with the ladybug theme, I have run it through my Swiss Dots embossing folder and then lightly ran a black ink pad over the raised texture to enhance it. The little ladybugs that I have used for embellishments are a freebie from StampFairy that can be found here. I wanted to use a Good Luck sentiment but I had to settle for Best Wishes as that is what I had that would fit.

In preparation for Father's Day, Gerda has created an adorable set of images and a set of matching sentiments that are being released today.

I hope that you will join us for this weeks challenge. I look forward to seeing your lovely creations.

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:

Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Hop

Good morning, if you are looking for my ABC Christmas post please click here.

It is May 25th and that means that it is time for the Magnolia-Licious Christmas all Year Long Blog Hop.
If you have made your way here from Angelique's blog then you are on the right track. If not, you will want to pop back there as she is the first stop along the way.
If you lose your way pop back to the Magnolia Christmas All Year Long Blog for a full list of participants.

For my card today, I have used Sitting Angel Tilda and coloured her with copics in soft pastel shades of pink and purple and added some stickles for sparkle on the wings and around the edge of the image.

I wanted to make a sweet and girly card. The DP is a remnant from years gone by that I found in my scraps. I have used a lace doily for a feminine touch and added lots of flowers from Wild Orchid and Michael's. To boost the sparkle factor, I have used a Magnolia swirl that I cut from silver glitter paper and if you look close, you will also see a silver leaf that I cut from a Christmas pick and tucked behind the flowers.

I want to thank you for stopping by today. Before you leave, I hope that you will leave a little comment to let me know that you were here. Now it is off to your next stop on the hop Cordine who I am sure will have something gorgeous to share with you.
Hugs!

K is for Kids

Good morning, it is time for another ABC Christmas challenge but before I tell you about the new challenge, I want to say that your Joyfold cards were awesome,  I had a great time stopping by your blogs for a peek.

This week it is Lacey's turn to host and our challenge this week is
K is for Kids card or Gift Card Holder using KRAFT card stock
Lacey has also created a quick and easy tutorial for you on making a gift card holder which can be found on the challenge blog.

This week we have two great sponsors which means two chances for you to win.
has an awesome selection of digital stamps, papers & more,
our Winner will receive 3 digital stamps of their choice.
and

has a fantastic selection of designs, Digital and Rubber stamps
Winner will receive 3 digis from Karen's doodles of their choice.

For my card this week, I have used Bongo the super sweet Christmas puppy from Digital Delights. The base for my card is kraft cardstock which I have also used for the circle mat behind my image on which I have stamped and embossed some little snowflakes. The designer papers come from MME and K and Company stacks that I picked up during the Christmas sales.
As it is a Kids card, I wanted to keep the embellishment simple so that nothing could fall off and become a hazard so I have opted for a ribbon printed with Christmas sweets.

I hope that you will join us this week. I look forward to seeing the cards that you create for the kids. Be sure to stop by the ABC Christmas Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has created for you.

Let it Snow

Wow,  two posts in one day. I wanted to share with you a card that I put together today. The image that I have used for my card is Rin and Snowman from Sparkle Creations. Isn't she just a doll. I have coloured the image with Copics and added some touches of Martha Stewart glitter and stickles for some sparkle and shine.

The layout for my card is based on the sketch above from 365 Cards. Following the colour scheme from the Christmas Card challenge inspiration photo, I have chosen the background papers to match my image. As the image really stands on its own, the only thing I added for embellishment was the LOTV sentiment.

I must say that I am really enjoying this new habit of making Christmas cards throughout the year. I should be all set and ready to go when December rolls around this year (no more stress and scramble to put together cards at the last minute). Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope that you will pop back soon.

StampFairy Challenge - Balloons

It is Monday which would normally mean that it was time to groan and start another work week but today is Victoria Day here in Canada which means a long weekend. Yippee!! I get to craft today.

As you all know by now, Monday also means that it is time for another StampFairy challenge.
This week the theme that has been chosen is
Its My Party
(Use balloons somewhere on you card)

There was a great sketch from Lilypad Cards so I have decided to try another CAS card. I printed Lenny cupcakes directly onto the main part of my card, coloured with Copics and added some stickles. I opted to stamp the sentiment from Hero Arts below the ribbon and added 3 bling dots for a touch more sparkle.
I also want to share with you today this wonderful release that Gerda has created in honor of Memorial day. Isn't Lenny just so cute in his uniform?

I hope that you will join us for the challenge. We look forward to seeing your lovely cards. Be sure to stop by the StampFairy Challenge blog for some more inspiration.

Christmas Angel

Just wanted to pop by and remind you all that there is still time to participate with your Joyfold cards for the ABC Christmas Challenge. To show you how much fun they are, I have created another to share with you today.

For this card, I have used up some remnants from my stash along with some cardstock in a brown and a cream.  The image which I bought after Christmas and am using for the first time is from Whiff of Joy and is called Praying Angel. The sentiment is from Stampendous and the little flower is from Prima.
I have used a number of different techniques as part of my card. In the background, I have stamped a flourish on my background paper, all of the cream coloured mats are embossed with the Swiss dots embossing folder, the edges of all papers have been inked for a more distressed/vintage feel  and I have also created a little pocket which holds two tags that I have tucked in there for writing happy Christmas wishes. With so many different surfaces to embellish, a joyfold card is perfect for trying new techniques in small doses.

I hope that you will stop by and join us in the challenge, we really do enjoy stopping by your blogs for a visit. Have a great week.

StampFairy Challenge - 3 Embellishments

Good Morning! It is Monday, the start of another work week and time for a new StampFairy Challenge.
Our theme this week is to use 3 embellishments. It can be 3 of the same or 3 types, it doesn't matter but there must be 3.
My card this week is a step outside of the box. I have opted for a Clean and Simple style. I have not yet decided whether I like it as it is just so different for me.

The image is Lenny Bubbles which can be found here. I have  coloured him with my Copics and cut the image out so that I could attach it with popdots for a touch of dimension.
All of the paper is Bazzill cardstock.  I have added a sentiment from Hero Arts and used 3 rhinestones as embellishment.

I also want to show you this weeks Monday release of new images.

I hope that you will join us this week. This weeks challenge is really open to your interpretation and you can make it as simple of fancy as you wish. I look forward to seeing what you create. Please remember that in order to be eligible for a prize, you must use a StampFairy image.

This card will be entered into the Crafty Creations challenge Anything Goes.

Sweet Spring Miss

Well another weekend is drawing to an end, it will be back to work in the  morning. Unfortunately the sun did not put in an appearance but I have stayed warm and dry tucked away in my craft room. I wanted to enter the Magnolia-Licious Highlites challenge as they have a wonderful sketch for us this month.

As you can see, I have kept my card true to the sketch.

For my card I have used Tilda with a Small Gift, she appears to be out of stock at Magnolia-Licious right now but I am sure that Diana has her on re-order and she will be available again soon.
All of the papers are from a few of the MME Stella and Rose collections which arrived in the mail on Thursday. You have to love happy mail.
The flowers are a combination of Prima and Wild Orchid, I have punched the leaves using a Martha Stewart punch and added a few pearls to finish off the floral corners. I have probably gone overboard but I like the end result even if it won't fit in an envelope.

Butterfly Blues

Wow, it is good to be back (silly Blogger and its tricks).  Today has been a wet and rainy day perfect for crafting. I have taken the opportunity to work on a card that I want to enter into a few challenges.

I coloured Tilda with Copics a few weeks ago. I struggle with blues and greens but I like the result of this one enough to put it on a card, although I do vow to keep practicing. I cut out her feet so that they dangled over the edge and stamped a little frame of flourishes around the edge of the image.

The layout for my card is based on the sketch for this week's Spoonful of Sugar Challenge:

.

I have used many of my favorite items for this card. Basic grey papers in blues and greens from the Hello Luscious and Marjolaine collections. A lacy doily for the circle element of the card. Gorgeous flowers from Prima and Wild orchid and a touch of bling in the form of the butterfly and swirls.

Little Boy Blue

Good morning, the sun is shining and I have another quick card to share with you today.

I wanted to make a card following the sketch from Just Us Girls as I loved the different angles found in the layout.

I have used a Hanglar stamp that I have had for a year  but have never inked before.
All of the papers for my Card came from the Memory box Minuet collection which I love for the soft blues and greens. All of the flowers are from Wild Orchid.

Below is a view of the inside of my card.

A Beary Merry Christmas

Welcome and a wonderful morning to all of you.  We are really moving through the year, I can't believe that we are already at May. I love seeing the signs of spring and knowing that it means that summer is just around the corner but before we know it winter will be upon us again and with that comes Christmas.

For those of you wanting to beat the rush and get a head start, we have another great challenge over on the ABC Christmas Blog.
This week we are hosted by Helen and she has chosen the theme of
J is for Joyfold.

Photobucket

We are sponsered this week by Simon Says Stamp who are offering a $15 voucher for one randomly selected entry.

For my card, I have used one of my favorite Teddies. I just adore James who is so cute with his tinsel. I have coloured him with Copics and accented the image with glossy accents and Martha Stewart tinsel glitter.
You can find him over at the Lili of the Valley Store.

All of the papers for this card are from the Basic Grey collection Jovial. I find that the black and red combo from many of the papers in the collection to be very striking and love the rich effect that it gives.

To help hold the card closed, I have opted to tie it with a ribbon and the bow has the added touch of acting as an embellishment. I wanted to keep the card simple to allow this image to shine so I have accented with only one pointsettia and a few punched leaves.

Basically a Joyfold card is a card with two overlapping flaps, below is a picture of the card open.

If you have not made a Joyfold card before, Helen has created a wonderful tutorial for you which can be found on the ABC Christmas Challenge Blog. Be sure to stop by and see the rest of the gorgeous creations made by my teamies to inspire you.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Love Grows

Good day, I hope that you have all been enjoying the same sunshine that we have had here. Spring has definitely arrived and I am so excited to see my garden springing back to life. This is in keeping with my card today as it features a super cute image from Lili of the Valley called Love Grows.

This is another image that I had coloured some time ago without giving any thought to what papers I would use it with. I struggled with what papers to pair it with but when my new Hello Luscious paper arrived last week I knew that this image had found a home. This collection is full of wonderful, cheery spring colour that just makes me happy.

This is a rather large card for me measuring a full 6 inches square but I wanted to have enough room on the card that you would still see those gorgeous papers. To embellish my card I have created a little floral arrangement using flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and have die cut a little tag which I have tucked behind the image and embellished with a ribbon bow and a heart charm to continue the theme of love.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope that you will come back again tomorrow for the start of another ABC Christmas Challenge.

Just a note, the charm that I used came from my friend Lacey (thanks sweetie)
and she has a sale on now at her store
The Store
all charms are 25% off.

StampFairy Challenge #22 - A Sketch

Good morning, it is time for another StampFairy Challenge.
This week Gerda has created another fantastic sketch for you.

I have a colleague at work who is expecting their first child, so I have used my favorite teddy
Chubby Angel to make a card to welcome the new baby.

I have rotated the sketch this time around as I felt that it better suited my image.
The papers for my card are from The Memory Box collection Minuet. This collection is one of my favorites as it is full of soft watery blues and greens.
I have kept the embellishment soft using pale blue hydrangeas from Prima and some Martha Stewart punches for the butterfly and leaves.

I hope that you will join us this week. I love to visit your blogs and look forward to seeing your wonderful creations. Please remember that in order to be eligible for a prize, you must use a StampFairy image. Be sure to visit the StampFairy store and have a look around. New images are added every Monday and Friday.

Sweet Honey Bear

Good Morning and Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there. I hope that you are all enjoying a wonderful sunshiny day wherever your are today.

I suppose that the card that I am showing you should be a Mother's Day card.
It easily could have been if I had used a different sentiment.

I have used Lenny Bee which you can find in the store.

Here is the inside view of my card.

These bright and cheerful papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper pad.
I have paired it with a Prima flower and some buttons from Nikki Sivils.

Good morning, it is time for another StampFairy Challenge.
Our challenge this week is
Shaker Cards

If you have not made a shaker card before, Annette has created a tutorial for you and it can be found here.
For my card, I have used Panda Paul Bamboo which I have coloured with Copics.
The papers for this card are from the Abriana collection from K and Company.  I know that I will be using this collection a lot in the coming weeks as the colours are so bright and perfect for the warm sunny days that are sure to be coming.

For the shaker, I have used one of the shaker pouches from Impression Obsession Stamps and filled it with glass seed beads left over from a previous hobby.

I hope that you will join us this week, I do look forward to visiting your blogs. Remember that in order to be eligible for a prize you must use a StampFairy image. New images are added to the store every Monday and Friday so be sure to stop by and take a peek.

Sun Bathing Beauty

Just before I left for vacation, my new stamps arrived from Sparkle Creations. Of course that means that now that I am back home, I needed to have a play with them this weekend. Over on the Sparkle Creations blog there is a challenge running that uses the following inspiration photo.

I was inspired by all the pinks and purples to create the following card.

All of the papers are from a K and Company pad that I picked up at Michael's the other day. I love the bright colours in these papers, perfect for summery cards. The flowers are Prima Hydrangeas and the sentiments are from Hero Arts.

Below is a picture of the inside of the card. I used scraps left over from the front of the card to trim it up.
