Today is an exciting day for us at StampFairy because today is our dear designer Gerda's Birthday.
We've  been a little bit sneaky and have secretly organized a Virtual Birthday Party! So come join the fun and party with us as we celebrate her big day.

If you have arrived here from Sharon's blog and her gorgeous creation then you are in the right place. If not, I suggest that you hop back to the StampFairy blog so that you can start at the beginning, you won't want to miss a thing.

For my card I have used one of the new images from the Lenny Music collection. After all what is a party without music right. These images are just so sweet.
The card includes all sorts of girly, feminine touches like the glitz and sparkle of the background papers to the gorgeous arrangement of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Tucked in behind is the sheet of music for the song. I think that it just might be
Happy Birthday to You!

That's right Gerda, this one is for you! I hope that you have a great day full of good things.

For all of our followers,  what would a party be without presents. For a chance at winning some StampFairy images of your own, be sure to leave a comment at each stop along the way. On Tuesday we will each draw a name at random from all of the entries and that lucky person will win the image that we have used.

Thanks for stopping by, your next stop is Lisa who I am sure will have something wonderful in store for you.

Summer Fun Somethings

Good morning, I have scheduled this post so I hope that Blogger is playing nice today. As you are are reading this I will be exploring The Bay of Fundy and stuffing myself full of seafood.

Over on the Stamp Something blog we have another great new challenge for you. It is a nice easy one this week as we have chosen the theme of Summer.

Photobucket

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Simon Says Stamp who have offered up a $20 voucher for one lucky participant. They have some of the most wonderful selection of supplies around and you are sure to be spoiled for choice.

I wanted to play with some of the great stamps that I got in my last order that had not been used. This card features Tilda with butterfly dress. I have masked the image with the mushroom from the same collection. I've even had a go at the paper tole or 3-D effect on both the butterfly and Tilda. I've kept it simple for my first go at it but I do like the effect.

To add a little twist I have made a tilted easel card. The gorgeous papers are from The Memory Box I have been saving them as I do not want to run out.

All of the gorgeous flowers in this little bouquet are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I am so happy that my order arrived and I have some colour selection once again.

To finish the inside I have found this great sentiment which I typed and printed from my computer. I have then affected the little verse with some stamping and punches.

I hope that you will stop by the Stamp Something blog and take a look at the gorgeous work of my teams. Then I hope that you will share with us your own lovely summer creations.
Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to visiting your blogs when I return home from my little vacation.

Baby's 1st Christmas

Good morning, I hope that you all enjoyed a nice summer weekend. If it is like here, it is hot, hot, hot. Over on the StampFairy challenge we want to help cool you down. We are celebrating Christmas in July and I do hope that you will join us. In addition to following the theme of Christmas we are asking that you make an easel card. For those of you who have not yet tried this, you really need to give it a shot as they are so much fun to make.
As I know a number of people who have just had babies, I decided to make a Baby's 1st Christmas card. The image is Chubby Christmas Angel and you can find him in the store here. I have colored him up to go with this paper from Basic Grey and then added some stickles to his wings. The metallic snowflakes were a dollar store find from last Christmas and I have used a sentiment that I found online to complete the card.

Before I go, I want to show a new set of images that have just been released today.

All images, including new releases are currently on sale for 50% off. Be sure to go and take a peek a grab a few for yourself.

Stamp Something Embellished

Good morning, I hope that you are all finding a way to stay cool. For me that means staying indoors and playing with all of my crafty goodies. Our Christmas challenge had so many gorgeous Christmas cards so maybe we are all trying to think our way to cool.

Today is Friday and not only does that mean that it is the start of the weekend but it is also the start of another Stamp Something challenge. Our challenge this week is to Stamp Something Embellished.

Our Sponsor this week is Sugar Nellie Stamps and they have generously offered up 4 Sugar Nellie Stamps to one lucky participant.

I decided that this week I would try a vintage steampunk feel for my card which features Lil Victorian Lilith from Tickled Pink Stamps. The image was coloured with Copics and I have used some distress inks and along with a text stamp and a grunge floral to add so interest to the edges of the image block.

For the background I have used this great paper from the Basic Grey Curio collection which I tore and inked to give a burned  look to reveal the newspaper print below. I have stitched the layers and distressed the edges to add to the timeworn feel. If you look closely in the bottom left corner you will see where I have masked and inked a vintage compass onto my background papers.

There are so many different embellishments layered onto this card. All of the flowers are from my newly replenished supply from Wild Orchid Crafts. Behind the flowers on the left of the image there is part of a Prima rhinestone swirl. For some additional steampunk flair I have also added in some Tim Holtz sprockets and gears. There is also just a touch of ribbon and a birthday sentiment that I picked up in the dollar bins at Michael's.

I hope that you will join us with your own embellished somethings.

O is for Old

Morning Peeps. Can you believe this weather that we are having? For those of you who are not aware, we are in the middle of a heatwave here. Even the dog wants to be inside. Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to feel like 46C with the humidity which is 114F. I am melting just thinking about it.

Over on the ABC Christmas Challenge blog we have a new challenge for you.  This week we would like for you to dig deep into your stamps and pull out your favorite oldies because
O is for Old

For my card this week I dug deep into my stamp drawer to find this great old stamp from Stampendous called Pookie Skates. A few years back all of my cards had this image on them. He has had a bit of a        re-vamp in colouring style since then. This time around he has been coloured with Copics. I just love this cheery and traditional red and green combo.

I have paired him with a great sentiment from LOTV, can't wait for their new release. I pulled some great MME papers that coordinated with the bright image to put the card together and I have embellished with some punched hearts to pick up on the love across the miles theme.

I want to thank you for stopping by. Be sure to visit the ABC Christmas Challenge blog and see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team.

StampFairy Colour Throw Down

Wow, summer sure has arrived. The temps have been in the mid to high 30 Celsius range all weekend and there does not seem to be any indication that this heatwave will be over any time soon. I have spent most of the weekend indoors where it is air conditioned and nice and cool.

We have a great new challenge starting today over on the StampFairy Challenge blog. This week we have a colour throw down for you.
Aqua, Melon and Kraft

My card this week features Lenny Ice cream. He is just so sweet and perfect for this summer heat. the colours were perfect for this image. Lenny has been coloured with Copics, I know big surprise there right? I was struggling to find papers to match the theme. The plaid is actually a card from MME that I cut apart and the remaining paper is from my scrap bin. I have finished it all off with a touch of ribbon and some Prima flowers.

I hope that you will join us for the challenge, please remember that to be eligible for a prize you must use a StampFairy image.  If you have not been by the store for a while now is a great time for a visit as there have been lots of great images added in the last few weeks.

Before you go, I want to introduce you to the newest member of the StampFairy family.

Meet Barry, isn't he just the sweetest thing. I just love this fuzzy little guy.

Stamp Something for Christmas

Good morning, it looks like we have an extremely hot and sunny weekend ahead. I think that I will be spending lots of time indoors where it is cool. I see some crafting time for me.

Today is the start of a new challenge on the Stamp Something blog and this week we would like to see your

Christmas Creations

Our generous sponsors this week are DRS Designs and they are offering a $15 voucher to one lucky participant. They were also kind enough to provide  the DT with some lovely images to work with this week.

I chose to work with the adorably sweet Candy Cane Christmas Critter. He coloured up so quick and easy and was wonderful to work with. I had actually made the background for this card using scraps from a previous project. I added some peel off snowflakes to the upper corner for some holiday sparkle and the sentiment is from LOTV.

I hope that you will join us with your own Christmas creations. I do look forward to seeing them.
Be sure to stop by the Stamp Something blog to see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team.

I will add the challenges that I will enter this card in this evening.

Try a New Technique with StampFairy

Good morning. I hope that you all had a wonderful and sunny weekend. The weather here has been beautiful, perfect for swimming and outdoor concerts which is what I was doing this weekend. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and today is the start of another work week.

Today is also the start of another StampFairy Challenge and this week we would like for you to show us something that you have made using a new technique.

For my card this week I have chosen to make a springfold card. I first saw this technique a few weeks back and had been wanting to try it so this challenge gave me the perfect excuse to give it a go. If any of you would like to give it a try you can do so by following the tutorial that I found here.

For this card, I have pulled out an image with my favorite snowman George. He has been coloured with Copics and accented with Stickles and liquid applique before I cut him out using my Spellbinders dies. The designer papers are from MME and Cosmo Cricket. I have kept the card simple as I felt that the design of the card already provided enough extra detail.

I hope that you will join us for our challenge. Be sure to tell us in your post what new technique you have used. Before you head off to start crafting be sure to stop by the StampFairy Challenge blog and see the gorgeous creations from the rest of the team.

Stamp Something with Bugs or Butterflies

Wow, it is Friday already. This week sure has gone by fast and it looks like we are in for a wonderful weekend. Today we have another great challenge for you and for me anyway it is an easy one. The theme that has been chosen is to stamp something with Bugs or Butterflies.

I have played around with my Distress inks again. This time I have uses some Tim Holtz stamps. I have stamped and embossed the butterfly and then over stamped with a flourish stamp that I had inked and misted with water for a watercolour effect. I then rubbed on some Tea Dye ink to tone down the white of the paper.

For the background I have embossed the cardstock with clear embossing powder and a background  stamp from Hero Arts to bring out the tone on tone watermark look. The polka dotted paper is from Pink Paislee. to finish off the card I have added a few more butterflies that I punched with a Martha Stewart punch and a simple sentiment that I stamped and embossed.

I hope that you will have a go at it and join us in our challenge. I do look forward to seeing your creations. Be sure to stop by the Stamp Something blog and see the wonderful creations from the rest of the DT.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope that you will visit again soon.

N is for No Nonsense

Good Morning, I hope that you are all having a wonderful week of sunshine.
It is time for another ABC Christmas challenge and this week our theme is

No Nonsense

This time we want to see you make a no frills card, one that does not use any designer papers.

We have two sponsors for this weeks challenge.
Simon Says Stamp are offering one lucky entrant A $15 voucher

Photobucket

and the fabulous Karen's doodles have offered up
3 digis from Karen's doodles of their choice for our second lucky participant.

This week, I have decided to try something a little different for my card.  As we were not using designer papers I decided to have a play with a couple of background stamps for the focal point of my card. I must say that I had a blast playing with the distress inks but if one was to look closely I think that there is still a slight blue tinge to my fingertips.

To create this I have embossed a Hero Arts doily stamp in the bottom corner then used distress inks over the entire background to make the doily pop. I then inked up the snowflake background stamp and stamped over the entire thing, I matted the card several times and then added a simple sentiment and a snowflake peeloff sticker to finish it off.
You cannot get much simpler, this card was completed start to finish in under half an hour.

I hope that you will join us for our challenge this week. I look forward to stopping by your blogs for a visit. Before you head off to start crafting be sure to stop by the ABC Christmas Challenge and see the gorgeous no frills cards that my teamies have created to share with you.

Celebrating the 4th with StampFairy

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends. I hope that you have all enjoyed a wonderful weekend.
Today Gerda has designed another wonderful sketch for our StampFairy challenge.

Being as it is the 4th of July, I have used Herb Patriot for my card today. Coming from Canada, I don't have a lot of use for cards in an Americana style but this sketch allowed me to keep it simple and by using the Celebrate sentiment it will be perfect when I need a card to send south of the border.
The designer papers were remnants that I had in my stash and the Stars are from a MME sticker set.

Remember that in order to win you must use a StampFairy image. Be sure to stop by the store as there have been many wonderful new images added in the last few weeks.

Stamp Something Digi - Two Little Piggies

Woohoo, the weekend is here. Happy Canada Day Everyone!
You've gotta love a 3 day weekend.

You've also gotta love a new Stamp Something challenge.
As this is the first Friday of the month, its

Digi Day

I hope that we can tempt you to join us. We have some great sponsors this week who have been kind enough to provide us with some images to play with and they are offering up some great prizes to the winners of this weeks challenge.

For my card this week I was provided with this adorable image called Hog Wild Over You from
Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps. Don't they look like they are so in love.

The image has been coloured with Copics and die cut with Spellbinders to fit the card.
All of the papers are from MME and they have been laid out based on a great sketch from the Sweet Stamps Challenge. I have die cut a little tag and tucked it behind the image and then layered on a few Prima Flowers and die cut leaves to embellish the card.

I hope that you will join us this week. I do look forward to seeing your gorgeous cards.
