A Royal Summer Birthday

Good Morning. Here in Canada, it is the Friday before a long holiday weekend and I must say that I am certainly looking forward to it. The weatherman says that it will be sunny and not too hot which means that it is just perfect.

Today is also the start of a new challenge at Stamp and Create with Magnolia. This time around, the theme is
Summer Royalty
Princess, Prince, Queen, Jester images.
If you don't have a "royal" image, you can use Royalty colors: Red, Purple, Gold, Dark Blue

Prize:

Stamp and Create carries a wide range of Magnolia stamps at some of the lowest prices!

For my card I have coloured Jester Tilda which is currently available in the shop. I coloured her up in Royal colours of red and purple with touches of gold and did not give much thought to paper until I was done.  Fortunately a few weeks ago I had picked up the Soleil paper pad from Basic Grey which matched the image perfectly.

As I was going for a Royal feel I thought that this card should be properly embellished. Lots of flowers and a diecut frame for the mat added just he detail that I was looking for. A simple sentiment on a little banner finished it all off.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have some time to be back again with something else to show you over the weekend. Until then have a great day!

I would like to enter my card in the following additional challenges:

The card that I have made this week would be perfect for any four year old. It features Party Hardy from Saturated Canary and she has been coloured using Copics to match some bright, fun papers from MME Lime Twist collection. I've used some simple chipboard elements which have been inked up to match to embellish the card and finished it all off with a simple circle diecut to mat the number four.

I hope that you will join in the fun and help us celebrate. I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations.

Time to Party!

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving to any of you here in Canada.
It has been some time now since my last post but I am ready to get back in the groove.

Today marks the midway point of the StampFairy Birthdays challenge.
For my card today I have chosen Barry Birthday and he is having a little celebration. My nephew's birthday is coming up soon so this was the perfect chance to make a card for him.

I picked up this great pack of papers from MME the other week because I felt they would be perfect for "boy" cards and I have coloured Barry to match. To hide an accidental slip of my pen I have doodled in some confetti, I was a little dubious at first but it really gives the image a party feel. The layout for my card was based on an older sketch from Stamp with Fun and I have popped the image up and added a few buttons for dimension.

I hope that you have been inspired to join us this week. Be sure to stop by the StampFairy Challenge blog for some more inspiration from the rest of the team.
Thanks for stopping by.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Demand a Recount

Just popping by with a quick post. My blog has been a little neglected lately due to a large project at work but that is over now and I am looking forward to have my crafty time back.

I had a 50th birthday party to go to last night and wanted a humorous card so I have turned to Gus from Bugaboo Stamps which I have coloured with Copics. As this is a masculine card I wanted to keep it fairly simple but I knew that I wanted to feature the age in a prominent way so I have cut it out with my Quickutz and popped it up on a circle to make it more of a feature.

I hope that you have a great weekend. I am off to enjoy some time in my craft room and garden before heading out to a movie.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

A Special Birthday Wish

Wow, it has been a while since my last post. Time sure does fly. Over the weekend I did manage to get some crafting done and I have a few cards to show you over the next few days. The first card that I will share with you has been created for Challenge 29 over at Basic Grey Challenges. They have a wonderful sketch this week by Tara G to base your card on.

I knew as soon as I saw this sketch that it was going to involve Tilda sitting off to the side of the circle. As soon as I settled on using some of my new Basic Grey Capella papers, this card came together in a flash. I know that this sketch is going to be a favourite of mine.

This time I decided to do something a little different and give my Copics a break. Tilda has been coloured using Prismacolour pencils and mineral spirits. I must admit to loving the way that the colours blend so nicely. The only accents I have opted to add to the sketch were a Prima flower and some leaves. The sketch is so pretty as is that I didn't see the need to fill it up with lots of little embellies.

I hope that you will join me and have a go at this sketch.  Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check back tomorrow as I have another card to share.

Happy Birthday Diana!

Better late than never, I almost didn't make it to the party. Diana Crick, owner of Magnolia-Licious had her Birthday this month and to celebrate they held a Birthday themed challenge on the Magnolia-Licious Highlites blog. For this card I have chosen to rest Tilda on some pretty Birthday packages. She has been coloured with my Copics in some bright party colours. I added stickles to the strings on the packages and glossy accents to the little medallions for added dimension.

The card has been matted with some new Memory Box paper that I picked up last weekend while I was on a little vacation. I used a little mat that I cut using my Spellbinders dies and embossed with my Cuttlebug. The swirl was cut using the silhouette and the butterfly and leaves are Martha Stewart punches.

Thanks for stopping by. This card is now making its way to someone special for her Birthday. If you are reading this, I hope you had a great Birthday Diana.
